THE host of Channel Seven’s hit show, The Big Music Quiz, has claimed that Em Rusciano was a “nightmare” to work with.

Darren McMullen opened up to news.com.au about some of the stars who took part in the trivia show which was filmed in Melbourne earlier this year.

“What can I say about Em Rusciano that can be printed?” the Scottish host joked.

“She was a nightmare (laughs). She just went on the most bizarre tangents and we were like, ‘Em, it’s a family show, this is never going to make it to air!’

“It was hilarious, everyone was in stitches in the studio, but the show we did with her was probably the longest show we did, it was getting up over the three hour mark.

“I had to pull her aside and go, ‘Em, I love you and I think you’re hilarious but everyone’s falling asleep and most of this isn’t going to make it to air because of the timeslot we’re in’.”

We thought it was only fair to let Em Rusciano respond to McMullen’s comments and she told news.com.au that she wasn’t the only person who made the show run long.

“He called me a hilarious nightmare?” Rusciano said.

“I like it, can I call my next tour that? To be fair I wasn’t the only one holding filming up, I seem to recall Darren having two people on standby with tiny personal fans (disguised to look like iPhones) due to his sweaty pit situation. That was legit their only job ... they were the hardest working crew members that night!”

Rusciano is just one of the many stars who features on the The Big Music Quiz which debuted last Sunday night with more than 1.2 million viewers tuning in.

Other celebrities that will be seen on the show include: Rebel Wilson, Joel Creasey, Dami Im, Anthony Albanese and Manu Feildel.

And which star did McMullen find to be the most competitive?

“It would be a close call between Georgie Parker and Ada Nicodemou,” he said.

“Ada was very competitive, I saw a whole other side of her.

“It’s always fascinating to me seeing actors on the show because you’re used to seeing them playing a particular character and then when you see them unleashed on a quiz show, their competitive streak comes out and you go, ‘Wow, you are not like your character at all. You’re a really good actress!’”

One of the other stars who will appear on the show is KIIS FM’s Jackie O, who proved she’s far more reliable than her radio offsider, Kyle Sandilands.

“I love the fact that she actually stuck to her word and came on the show,” McMullen said.

“While I was filming The Big Music Quiz I went on their radio show and both her and Kyle said, ‘I like the idea of that, I’m going to come on it.’ But could we track Kyle down? No!”

The Big Music Quiz airs Sunday’s at 7pm on Channel Seven and this weekend’s episode will feature: Ada Nicodemou, Adam Garcia, Bindi Irwin, Brendan Jones, Erin Holland, Jai Waetford, Rebel Wilson and Sam Mac.
