Twitter rocked after Elly’s shock eviction from The Bachelor

Fans were left baffled by Matt’s decision to send Elly home in tonight’s dramatic rose ceremony.

She’s the country girl who wooed Matt Agnew with a bag of marshmallows by the fire on day one, promptly scoring the hometown date card from the seemingly smitten Bachelor. But tonight, sweet-natured nurse Elly Miles was sent packing.

The surprise decision comes after Elly became embroiled in the swirling drama involving Abbie — who has copped criticism from the other women for her propensity to put herself first when vying for alone time with Matt.

Last week, Elly was left frustrated after Abbie successfully convinced her to give up her alone time with Matt. The following episode, Elly told Matt she didn’t believe Abbie was there “for the right reasons”, a line she continued to pull tonight.

“You need to be careful with Abbie,” she told the astrophysicist during her single date with Matt, which she won during a group date.

“I wanted this to be a beautiful, romantic, intimate moment we got to share after a really great intimate day. But it’s become something completely different. It’s unsettled me a little bit,” Matt later said in a to-camera interview.

Alas, when it came time for Matt’s decision at the rose ceremony, it was Elly’s time to go.

Fans were left baffled by Matt’s decision to send Elly home, certain he had a “genuine connection” with the Newcastle nurse.
