The Bachelor: Monique says outburst was just a joke
It’s the four-letter word that rocked The Bachelor mansion. But according to Monique Morely, there’s a simple reason for what happened.
Monique Morely has opened up about the four-letter word that has rocked The Bachelor mansion, claiming there was a simple explanation for the scandal — it was all a joke based on a popular Youtube video.
Wednesday’s episode saw chaos erupt when Abbie Chatfield told Matt Agnew that Monique had called him a “dog c**t” and “disrespectful pig”.
But Monique denied saying it when confronted, however Rachael Arahill later weighed in and claimed she had only said it as a joke.
It was all very confusing, especially for Matt who after much deliberation decided to keep Monique around.
Speaking to TV Week in an interview published earlier this week, Monique claimed there was a simple explanation for what happened — it was Trent from Punchie.
Who is Trent from Punchie, you ask?
Well, he’s a character from a 2008 Youtube video played by actor Nicholas Boshier depicting a foul-mouthed teen from the western Sydney suburb of Punchbowl.
“We were in stitches laughing,” Monique said of the joke. “I don’t remember exactly what was said, but if it was said, it was as a joke. It was taken completely out of context.”

While Ten bleeped out the offending four-letter word, there was several references to a “C-word” and “C U next Tuesday” being uttered.
But unlike Married At First Sight, which aired Bronson Norrish describing his wife Ines Basic as “acting like a c**t” earlier this year, Ten did not run a graphic content warning before the word was aired.
According to Abbie, Monique had been annoyed after discovering the 23-year-old and Matt had kissed at the last cocktail party.
“After the cocktail party ended, I told a few girls that we had a kiss. And they were getting upset with me because they didn’t think it was appropriate,” Abbie said.

“And some girls were saying some things about you … Monique in particular was saying things about you … there was a phrase that was said that I want to tell you and I don’t want to upset you … Ok, so … she said that you’re a dog c**t. And a disrespectful pig.”
When Matt asked Monique about Abbie’s claims, the 26-year-old said she “would never, ever say that”.
“I don’t speak that way at all,” Monique continued. “I never talk about Matt negatively. It’s obviously something some of the young girls have said and made up to get me out of the house.”
Viewers on Twitter were divided on the situation, with several fans calling on Ten to “release the footage”, MAFS-style.
