Carrie Bickmore is left blushing at The Bachelor Jimmy’s crush reveal

Carrie Bickmore couldn’t help but blush when The Bachelor Jimmy Nicholson revealed she was his celebrity crush.

The Bachelor’s Jimmy Nicholson has revealed who his Aussie celebrity crush is.

In a bid to get to know Jimmy before his season of The Bachelor kicks off on July 21, I asked the 31-year-old pilot a series of rapid fire questions.

Some of the questions I put to him were: What his most annoying habit is, what food he can’t stand, what he wears to bed and what his favourite TV show of all time is (I know, I’m definitely getting a Walkley Award this year).

I also asked Jimmy who his celebrity crush is and I’ll be honest, I was a bit surprised by his answer.

“Carrie Bickmore,” Jimmy said.

When asked to explain his crush, Jimmy said: “I just think she looks like a really nice person and she’s very beautiful. She’s wife material.”

Hilariously, the segment was aired on The Project, much to Carrie’s embarrassment.

She immediately tried to change the subject but her Project co-hosts kept teasing her about Jimmy’s confession.

“Are you entering the Bachelor, the competition?” Peter Helliar asked.

“No!” Carrie replied.

A giggly Kate Langbroek said, “he got really properly crushy” and Waleed Aly added: “Is it a strange thing to say when you are about to date 20 women at once?”

Jimmy told news.com.au said he’s never met The Project and Carrie and Tommy star but that will undoubtedly change in the next week or so as he ramps up the promotion for The Bachelor.

“It’s going to be interesting after telling you that and then meeting her,” he laughed in our interview.

Before The Project aired last night, I sent Jimmy’s comments to Carrie’s radio co-host, Tommy Little, who played the audio on their Hit Network drive show.

After hearing what Jimmy said, Carrie replied: “Well that’s awkward!”

Carrie said she hopes she’s not on The Project when Jimmy inevitably comes onto the show to spruik The Bachelor “so that I’m not embarrassed and he’s not embarrassed”.

“Look, it’s very lovely and I’m very, very flattered,” she said on radio about Jimmy’s crush.

Jimmy also revealed during my chat with him that he is officially off the market after finding love on The Bachelor which has already wrapped filming.

“I have found love. I’m really, really happy,” he said. “She’s amazing. We chat multiple times a day, a lot of Facetime at the moment, and I’m really happy, so it’s good.”

Only five of this year’s Bachelorettes have been revealed so far and I’m putting my money on 27-year-old marketing manager, Holly, purely because she looks the most like Carrie Bickmore.

The Bachelor premieres on Wednesday, July 21 at 7.30pm on Network 10
