‘So uncomfortable’: Viewers share their horror over trainwreck Bachelor date

RHIANNON and Nick’s private time together on The Bachelor was going really well — until one question sent the whole date into absolute chaos.

CRINGE-WORTHY dates are part and parcel on The Bachelor, but last night’s scenes between Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins and Rhiannon Doherty may actually have been the most uncomfortable rendezvous yet.

Viewers were quick to share their horror on Twitter as Rhiannon — who we had literally not seen up until the point where Nick asked her on a solo date — stumbled her way through his questions about love while they sipped on champagne following a hot-air balloon ride.

But the real clincher came after Nick awarded her a rose — and with it, safety at the next rose ceremony — and Rhiannon decided it was time they sealed their new-found relationship with a kiss.

“I’m a little bit nervous, ’cause I really like Nick and I don’t want Nick to see me as a mate or a friend so I think it comes down to a kiss … I just want to get it sorted,” she confided to producers.

Moments before it all went south.

As Nick and Rhiannon hugged, she floated the idea with him — and it all went downhill from there.

“I mean, I’d love to give you a little kiss but I don’t know if it’s like … awkward or not,” she said, while Nick stalled for time.

“Is it awkward? Do you want to kiss?” Rhiannon pressed him. “Do you want to do it? Do you want to kiss? I don’t know … What, you don’t want to?”

Nick’s response … wasn’t promising:

Oh dear.

Afterwards, he consoled her with the suggestion that he could “just hold her a bit” — and oh boy, was it uncomfortable to watch.

However, some people couldn’t help feeling sorry for Rhiannon — and also pointed out that airing footage taken after the awkward exchange (in which she cried to a producer) was a little unfair.

Rhiannon seems cool with a good heart. They shouldn’t have shown her in tears talking to the producer, wasn’t necessary. She was clearly super nervous and uncomfortable in the contrived date environment, just give her a break, no need to accentuate it #TheBachelorAU
