First look at The Bachelor episode one and premiere date revealed

A glimpse at The Bachelor’s first episode has arrived. It looks like it’s going to be a juicy season, and it all kicks off sooner than expected.

First look at The Bachelor episode 1

From quirky entrances, to twinkly Disney music and jealous contestants looking on, the first episode of The Bachelor 2021 looks set to deliver the goods.

Released overnight, a Channel 10 promo shows new Bach Jimmy Nicholson nervously waiting on the red carpet to meet the women vying for his heart, and for the inevitably awkward first impressions.

Among the early frontrunners are Brooke, who presents Jimmy with a Sri Lankan love cake, Holly, who whisks the pilot off to a makeshift wine bar, and Jay, who adorably bungles her chess game with 31-year-old.

But in a moment that looks set to rub the other contestants the wrong way (which is what we’re really here for), suitress Lily arrives via crane, descending from a flower-adorned cage in the sky.

The other women seethe as she floats into Bachie HQ, the wind in her perfectly-tousled blonde hair.

Along with the juicy promo, Channel 10 has revealed the first episode will air on Wednesday, July 21, so we have two weeks to plan our premiere parties.

In March, Channel 10 revealed that Jimmy Nicholson would be the next Bachelor.

Breaking free from the trend of casting already-recognisable figures, Sydney pilot Nicholson, 31, will front the reality TV series, which began filming a few months ago.

The network said Nicholson decided to apply for the show when he found himself with ample free time after the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

“I am a big believer in embracing any opportunity that presents itself, especially if it has the potential to change your life for the better,” Nicholson said.

“The journey ahead will be one of the most challenging experiences that I have ever undertaken, however I am very excited to meet someone that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with.”

Describing himself as a “self-confessed romantic”, Nicholson, who is of New Zealand and Fijian heritage, is an “intelligent and passionate go-getter” who is ready to find the love of his life and settle down.

Channel 10 also revealed the show will be filmed at a new mansion this year, though details are currently under wraps.

The Bachelor Australia kicks off Wednesday, July 21 from 7.30pm on Channel 10
