Bachelor fans spot glaring mistake during cringe-worthy moment between Cass and Nick
MOST of us were covering our eyes while Cass awkwardly read her lovestruck diary to Nick last night — but those watching carefully noticed something very interesting.
IT WAS hard to focus on anything but the excruciating awkwardness while Cassandra Wood read out a love letter to Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins on The Bachelor last night.
But some eagle-eyed fans managed to spot something (else) pretty weird during the cringe-worthy moment.
“Stage-five clinger” Cass — who apparently had some kind of romantic interaction with Nick before the show aired — was reading the lengthy letter about her feelings from her diary. The only problem? The page was completely blank.
JAMES WEIR RECAPS: Bachelor stalker’s humiliation
Sure, maybe Cass, 23, wrote it in invisible ink — but it’s even more possible that she was just winging it and *gasp* had not actually spent an hour gazing out a window, jotting down her innermost feelings about this season’s Bachelor.
Despite apparently reading from a blank page, Cass seemed pretty well-rehearsed after she worked up the courage to pull Nick aside during the cocktail party.
“From the moment I first saw you, there was this precious moment in time where it felt like everything stood still and we locked eyes through the crowd,” she told him.
“I didn’t know who you were, all I knew was I wanted to get to know you. Fast-forward to a few months later where I properly got to meet you … and there was a moment of realisation for me — that love at first sight can be true. From then, every time I see you, I get butterflies.”

Unfortunately, Cass’ declaration of love didn’t seem to go as she’d planned, with Nick responding that he’d “bitten off more than he could chew” and he “doesn’t want to hurt anybody”.
Yikes.
It was a bit of a bummer for Cass, but Nick was presumably still basking in the afterglow of his two first proper pashes of the season (that awkward scene with Romy Poulier, where she made out with his neck, doesn’t count) earlier in the episode.
During a romantic night-time one-on-one date, Nick and Brittany Hockley had enjoyed a steamy kiss in the pool, while he also managed to sneak in a pash with fan favourite Brooke Blurton after she tackled him to the ground during a flirty football game.
