Awkward moment in the middle of Bachelor finale

Matt’s closest friend Kate made her disapproval of Abbie abundantly clear tonight, walking out in the middle of their chat.

The Bachelor 2019 Episode 15 Recap: Game Of Roses

We’re moments away from watching Matt and his chosen partner walk hand-in-hand into the sunset to a life free from rose ceremonies.

But before the happy ending we’ve all been waiting for, both Abbie and Chelsie met with Matt’s closest pals to be put through the wringer once more.

During Abbie’s routine grilling — teased in the promo as “the most awkward interrogation yet” — Matt’s oldest friend Kate (apparently the “biggest bullsh*t detector”) didn’t mince words.

In fact, she made it quite clear how disappointed she was to see Abbie in South Africa.

“I’ll be honest … I was surprised that you have come down to the final two,” she told the divisive contestant, who was seen downing her champagne during the tense chat.

Speaking in a to-camera interview, safe from the tension, Abbie told producers: “She’s horrible … Why is Matt even friends with her?” which doesn’t bode well considering Kate is Matt’s closest friend.

When a producer suggested she was just being protective of Matt, Abbie mock-coughed “Possessive.”

The situation intensified with Kate requesting a moment to herself and promptly walking away from a confused Abbie, right in the middle of their conversation.

“What the actual f***?,” Abbie blurted to producers as Kate walked off.

“I’m not really believing what she’s saying,” Kate whispered to producers, as Abbie rolled her eyes to the camera.

Earlier in the season, when Kate first met Abbie, she shared the popular view that the 23-year-old was not on the show for the right reasons — chasing notoriety rather than love.

She expressed these concerns in a heart-to-heart with Matt during the episode — concerns he heard several times after that.

“I love Kate!,” Abbie said saracastically to the camera following their time together.

Tonight, Kate mentioned several times that Abbie “didn’t seem like she’d fit” into Matt’s life.

Regardless, Matt and Abbie’s chemistry only intensified throughout the season, and the Queensland beauty landed a spot in the top two with loveable, self-confessed “nerd” Chelsie McLeod.
