Tammy departs Farmer Wants A Wife in a shock exit which she blames on her age

One contestant is shockingly sent home on the second episode of Farmer Wants A Wife, with the woman blaming her exit on her age.

The second episode of Farmer Wants A Wife is done and dusted, with one shock departure making it clear that the time for fun and games is officially over.

During the episode, the farmers return to their farms with one lucky lady they’ve chosen to spend the first 24-hour date with.

With connections blooming, some farmers are starting to find who they can really see themselves starting a future with. However, the love-bubble is soon burst when the remaining ladies of each of the farmers arrive.

Farmer Will, a 39-year-old sheep and cattle farmer in Longwood, Victoria, makes the tough decision to send one of his ladies home.

After a big day on the farm, Will asks Tammy, a 40-year-old beauty and massage therapist from Queensland, to have a one-on-one chat with him.

“This is an extremely difficult decision,” Will muses to the camera, while Tammy is certain she knows where this conversation is headed.

“Every girl here is definitely keen to start a family one day, and they do have that advantage because they’re a lot younger than me. That might be a decider for him,” she says to the camera. Tammy is the eldest of their group, and is aware that the timeline that Will wants to have children might put her at a disadvantage.

“How are you feeling?” Tammy asks as they sit down on a small, intimate table.

“It’s been a stressful day,” Will tells her.

“I don’t envy you,” she adds.

“Reality very much hit today,” he says. “Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush, I’m going to be very honest. This is so ridiculously hard for me, and I can’t even make eye contact with you. You have done nothing wrong, you are wonderful.”

“No I get it, it’s all good. Don’t stress,” she says. “You’re here for a reason and you have to trust your gut. I appreciate your honesty. I’d rather you tell me now than three weeks down the line.”

“The last thing I’d want to do is screw anyone around or play any games,” adds Will. “I just want to be truthful and upfront with you, and I just feel sick to be honest.”

Talking to the camera, Will is heavy with guilt.

“Every time you have to say goodbye to someone you care about it sucks. It was really rough, just knowing she was upset was very upsetting.”

Walking away crying, Tammy tells the camera, “I am definitely sad to say goodbye, but I’ll be fine. I think possibly my age might be an underlying factor, I don't think Will’s ready for kids right away. I think that’s a long-term thing for him, so I think one of the other girls would be more suited to him in that respect.”

The pair are civil when they say their goodbyes, giving each other a big hug as she heads off in the car.

“It’s been fun and games until now,” says Will, realising he has to do this torturous farewell three or four more times before finding his wife.
