Performer Amy Dowden returned to television with a special job today and gave supportive viewers a health update.

The popular dancer on Strictly Come Dancing – the UK’s version of Dancing With The Stars -told the public in May that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33.

The dancer had to pull out from performing in this year’s season of the BBC TV talent show because of her condition.

Dowden had to drop out of this season …

… but she made a special appearance in tonight’s episode.

Docs later made the devastating discovery that cancer had spread to another location in her body.

But brave Amy made a quick appearance on the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing to let fans know how she’s doing.

She boldly sported a shaved head after chemotherapy and came on screen to read out the phone number audience members use to vote.

As Strictly fans are used to seeing her.

Dowden revealed she’s over halfway through her treatment.

Amy was cheered on and given a warm embrace by some of her co-stars while on stage.

After presenting the intermission, she added: “I’m over halfway through chemo and can’t wait to be back with you all permanently!”

Supportive viewers flooded to social media, complimenting Amy for her strength in making it onto the show despite her health battle.

Fans praised the “strong and beautiful” performer for her appearance on the show.
