Singer Bella Taylor Smith stuns The Voice judges with beautiful performance

One judge on The Voice went to extraordinary lengths to ensure a Sydney singer with a “crazy” voice chose him as a mentor.

A Sydney singer has moved wowed judges and fans on The Voice with some saying her performance moved them to tears.

Bella Taylor Smith, 23, has become an early favourite to win the show with all four judges vying to mentor the talented singer.

“I will never probably forget this audition, honestly, that was a true amazing performance,” singer and judge Rita Ora gushed after Smith’s version of Beyonce’s Ave Maria.

Both Ora and fellow judge Keith Urban described Bella as having the voice of the day, with many online agreeing.

“Bella just moved me to tears! I’m calling it now … she’s gonna win!” one fan said on Twitter.

“That was hands down the single greatest blind audition I’ve ever seen,” another said.

“I have goosebumps, and you’ve got my vote,” another woman said.

Urban said Bella had a “beautiful balance of strength and vulnerability” in her voice.

“It’s not just your ability with your voice, with your gift, it’s the humanity that you’ve got inside there, and the things you’ve been through and I don’t even know what they are yet but I can hear them, and I could definitely feel them, that was beautiful,” he said.

Bella ultimately chose to be mentored by Guy Sebastian, who earlier blocked fellow judge Jessica Mauboy from consideration.

Sebastian spoke to Bella about her church background, something they both have in common.

He had tears in his eyes as he said he understood Bella’s perspective that she didn’t think she could “lay claim” to her gift.

But said it was not a bad thing that her gift was about herself too.

“You could be on any stage, that voice is sublime,” Sebastian said.

“I think you have a future and I want be a part of it.

“Your voice is crazy.”
