Tim Robards has revealed he suffered a horrific injury while filming SAS Australia earlier this year but viewers were left completely unaware after producers decided to edit the incident out.

The TV star said he was struck down by an injury to his leg while filming the reality show, tearing his abductor while taking part in one of the gruelling tasks.

He told Daily Mail that he was frustrated with producers for not bothering to “show a lot of his journey”.

“I felt like in the series, they didn’t really show a lot of my journey. One big part on episode 8, I actually saw my doctor … I tore my abductor,” revealed the fitness star.

Robards went on to share his “disappointment” that viewers weren’t shown just how much he struggled all the way to the end as a result of the injury.

“It was a pretty serious injury and they never showed it. They didn’t make it part of my storyline, which was disappointing as that was a big part of my journey,” he said.

“It gave jeopardy to whether I would get through and I think a lot of people at the end were thinking I looked like the fittest guy that was left, so I’d probably get through, but I was actually struggling so much underneath and none of it came easy to me.”

He went on to reveal that the painful injury caused him to all of a sudden “drop back” from the rest of his co-stars and he kept struggling to walk with a limp.

“It was so painful to push through. I had to go and see the doctor and he said I had partially torn it and it could come all the way off, but it’s up to me whether I want to keep going,’ he continued.

He added that producers cut “so many things” from the show, saying: “I pushed through luckily and didn’t tear it … they knock back the severity of just how hard that show is. They cut out so many things.”
