SAS Australia invites everyday Aussies to apply for season three
SAS Australia has invited everyday Aussies to apply for a spot on a non-celebrity season of the show, but the terms and conditions are hectic.
Think you’ve got what it takes to appear on SAS Australia?
The Channel 7 show has invited everyday Aussies to apply for a spot on a non-celebrity season of the show to be filmed later this year.
Applications are now open – but be warned, some of the terms and conditions are pretty hectic.
The site states: “You acknowledge and agree that you understand the nature of the Program, in particular, that it may involve participants being pushed to their physical limits through a combination of endurance marches with heavy packs, sprints, drills and other physical activities, that the course will include mental stressors, which could include, but not be limited to sleep deprivation and irregular food provision, exposure, water, extreme cold, heights, dogs, dark claustrophobic spaces, psychological profiling, public domain background searches of media stories and other material (which may be included within the Program), kidnap simulations, aggression tests, interrogation, round the clock observation, stress positions, intimidation, exposure to loud noise, changing clothes outside and in common living spaces and physical combat.”

If you’re keen to apply and are wondering how to best prepare for the show, here’s what SAS Australia star Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham told news.com.au last year.
“Get your mental state in order. If you can get comfortable with being uncomfortable, you are three-quarters of the way there,” Billingham said.
“You do have to have a good grounding of fitness in terms of being able to run and carry a bit of weight, but you don’t really have to be super fit.
“As we state on the show, we’re not looking for the fittest, we’re looking for the person who gives 100 per cent and who never gives up.”
The first season of SAS Australia aired last year with 17 celebrities taking part. Just three of them passed: Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins, Merrick Watts and Sabrina Frederick.
A second season featuring a new batch of celebrities is set to start filming next month.
The cast hasn’t yet been announced but there are rumours the line-up could include Michael Clarke, Ian Thorpe and Pete Evans.
In the UK, where the show is called SAS: Who Dares Wins, there have been five seasons featuring civilians and just two featuring celebrities.
