Reggie Bird and Tim Dormer return to Big Brother, newbie Josh ruffles feathers
Big Brother has returned with a bombshell first episode, introducing four iconic former players, a romantic twist and a villain.
Big Brother season 15 has found its villain, with a new housemate wasting no time declaring he’s willing to “put a target on your back” if he’s crossed.
Former international model Josh has brought the drama early, rolling his eyes as his fellow housemates gushed over Big Brother past players Tim Dormer, Reggie Bird, Dave “Farmer Dave” Graham and Estelle Landy, brutally labelling them “nobodies”.
The 32-year-old seems raring to stir up trouble, securing an alliance called the “J Squad” and confessing he has feelings for another housemate, Sam, who he had dated before entering the competition.
But before Josh’s villainesque storyline took centrestage, it was a nostalgic entrance for the four OG stars, who were greeted by a grinning Sonia Kruger looking stunning and ageless in silver.
For 2003 winner and fan favourite Reggie, it’s been a rough trot since her time on the show, opening up to producers about her devastating battle with deteriorating eyesight.
“I want to win Big Brother this time around for my kids,” Reggie began.
“Since my time on Big Brother my life’s been nothing but a struggle. I got divorced, and I also got diagnosed with going blind.”
She continued, pausing to collect herself as she came close to tears: “I got diagnosed with an eye disease, so I've now lost all my peripheral vision. I have no night vision. I could wake up tomorrow and it’s gonna be gone.”
At the request of Big Brother, Tim, Reggie, Dave and Estelle stayed hidden in the control room for the first two days, revealing themselves to a tense first elimination in which they were granted the power to save all three nominated newbies.
While rookie players Mel, Aleisha and Lulu were relieved to be given another chance after being put up to the chopping block by “J Squad” member and first challenge victor Joel, model-turned-painter Josh uttered that he was “livid”.
Arguing that someone should be sent home, Josh told the group: “I’m here to play the game … everyone that goes is another percentage better … if you wanna keep playing happy family, we can play here all day. You play, you play hard.”
He added: “To be honest with ya, I’ll put a target on your backs too,” to gasps from the housemates.
“Now we’ve got four guys who have played the game before to manipulate us, and what I’m concerned about is you’re fanning out over celebrities. They’re here to win a game too,” he laster told saved contestant Mel.
Elsewhere, he boldly stated to himself; “Oh well, some more fricken nobodies to run over.
Tomorrow night’s episode promises to shed more light on Josh’s romantic history with Sam, while the original Big Brother stars settle in to the house and perhaps ruffle some feathers of their own.
Big Brother continues Tuesday night from 7.30pm on Channel 7
