Real Housewives of Sydney star Melissa Tkautz reveals steamy tryst with Simon Baker

IT was once pretty hot and heavy between pop star Melissa Tkautz and The Mentalist’s Simon Baker.

YOU’D be forgiven for missing Simon Baker lurking in the background of former pop star Melissa Tkautz’s debut music video, Read My Lips.

It was 1991, before he made it big in Hollywood, and way before Tkautz signed up to join Real Housewives of Sydney.

Baker had a minor part as a smouldering model, but this morning on NovaFM’s Fitzy and Wippa, Tkautz revealed he played a much bigger role off-camera.

“I dated Simon,” she admitted.

“I was infatuated with him, he was gorgeous.”

When grilled by the radio hosts on how it all went down, the 43-year-old explained they met on the set of the video, then dated “on and off for a year and a half.”

Tkautz claimed she even helped The Mentalist star get his first big break by putting him in touch with the creator of an Aussie soap opera.

“I introduced him to Forrest Redlich, and he put him on E Street,” she said. (Baker appeared in the TV series in the early 90s, before going on to land bigger roles.)

But the interview got a little awkward when Fitzy and Wippa asked Tkautz if she remembered the other male who appeared in the music video.

“Oh yeah, uhhhh ...” she rambled, unable to place a name.

Turns out it was Channel 7 presenter Tom Williams.
