Politics has taken centre stage of I’m A Celebrity with Tom Arnold scathing of Donald Trump

TOM Arnold has unloaded on Donald Trump on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! claiming the man he has known for over 30 years is not what he says.

TOM Arnold claims US President Donald Trump is a sexist and racist “phony” billionaire.

The American actor has known the former Apprentice star for three decades and has been vocal in his opposition to his presidency.

“I know him very well,” Arnold said on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

“He is sexist, he’s racist but I consider him a kind of joke. I have friends that are real billionaires, that are real and I always considered him a phony about that.”

Arnold, 57, is one of 12 celebrities competing on the Channel Ten reality show alongside the likes of Lisa Curry, Casey Donovan and Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

Before going into the jungle, he told News Corp: “I have a thing going with the President in America now. Hopefully the one thing they are going to notify me is if the impeachment process starts while I am in camp, which I hope it does. I feel like if I talk about American politics in camp with Australians, that is sort of like, I can talk about that in America. I can talk about my brother, I’ve got four brothers, but other people can’t. So I’m not going to bad mouth America in front of Australians. I will do that when I am back in America.”

As an actor he is best known for roles in films including True Lies and Austin Powers but his past marriage to fellow comedian Roseanne Barr has overshadowed much of his career.

The pair met in the early 80s and were married between 1990 and 1994. After they split, he went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

“If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have gone to rehab,” Arnold, who is married to fourth wife Ashley Groussman, told campmates of the failed relationship with Barr.

“First it was good. We really decided to get married because one day we were like, nobody likes either one of us, we should probably get married. We had a lot in common but it got crazy. She had issues she has been very open about, she’s got multiple personality disorder. It is a fact that she had 27 different personalities. It was a complicated life and only two of her personalities liked me, that is not a joke so I would come home and there would be somebody that didn’t like me.”
