OPINIONATED, competitive and unapologetically outspoken — The Bachelor hopeful Keira Maguire isn’t afraid to say what she thinks and doesn’t care who’s offended.
The 29-year-old real estate industry professional will ruffle more than a few feathers in tonight’s premiere of the hit Network Ten reality series.
With pointed comments about the other girls and a loud, domineering approach to her first night in the Bachelor mansion, Maguire is shaping up to be this season’s villain.
“I feel like I was just myself,” Maguire insisted.
“I’d rather be the honest one who’s upfront and have people (in the house) hate me rather than pretend to be something I’m not. At least I know I was true to myself.
“I just say it how it is. I’m a bit competitive, so that will probably shine through, but I like to have a good laugh as well.”
Some of those laughs were at the expense of the other 21 other girls vying for Richie Strahan’s heart, she admits.
During the first night’s cocktail party, she took aim at a fellow hopeful who penned a heartfelt song for Strahan, another who staged a Cinderella-esque interaction by deliberately losing her shoe and one whose dress was cut particularly high.

“I don’t do anything in a malicious way, I don’t think,” she said.
The buxom Sydneysider was shocked by how seriously some of the women took the situation, with a lot of tension about who got the most face time with the Bachelor.
Early pleasantries were quickly replaced with “sizing each other up”, Maguire said.
“I had a few wines so I was pretty relaxed and didn’t really care.”
Before tonight’s debut, there are already comparisons being drawn between Maguire and former colourful contender Laurina Fleure, famed for her “dirty street pie” meltdown two years ago.
Maguire pleaded with viewers to not judge her too quickly — the first night was an emotional and overwhelming one.
“I had my guard up, trying to protect myself,” she said.
“Hopefully people think I’m funny and they can see the funny side of things. If you don’t know me, you can’t really judge.
“It’s a TV show — I’m there to entertain.”
The aim of The Bachelor game is love, but viewers who also enjoy a heavy dose of drama and conflict won’t be disappointed, Maguire hints.
“It’s not that I clashed with girls over who they are, but things they did that I don’t agree with. I’m strong in my convictions and opinions. I’ll say something if I’m not happy with it.”
The Bachelor begins tonight at 7.30pm on Network Ten.
