Ninja Warrior star's bizarre new habit

One of Australian Ninja Warrior’s most recognisable contestants has revealed a bizarre new habit online: ingesting his own urine.

Jack “Deadly Ninja” Wilson was one of the best-loved contestants on Nine’s hit series, competing across several seasons and featuring heavily in the show’s advertising with his distinctive uniform of Aboriginal flag speedos.

But he shocked his Instagram followers this week with a video in which he graphically demonstrated his latest interest.

“PISS IS BLISS,” he captioned the video, a warning sign of what was to follow.

In the video, Wilson clutched a hollowed-out pawpaw and told his followers he would show them “how to put the most powerful healing energy antidote into it, and then consume it to heal anything in the body.”

With that, he turned away from the camera and urinated into the hollowed-out fruit, calling his emission “the fountain of youth … the golden elixir.”

Wilson then gulped down the urine, before violently snorting some of it up his nose “to clear out the nasal passages.” We then used it to wash his face and hair.

The video drew a decidedly mixed reaction from Wilson’s 31k-odd Instagram followers.

“Absolutely f**king not, this is cooked,” read one top-rated comment.

“Bruh, this was ballsy. I have not done this … & you’ve piqued my curiosity,” said another.

“Brother, go get help please,” said another.

“I can’t tell if this is jokes or not,” wrote another.

Any questions about whether the video was in fact a cleverly-shot prank were answered by Wilson’s follow-up post, where he passionately spoke for several minutes about his love of ingesting his own urine.

“Brothers and sisters … so, you’ve just seen the video. Doing the wee in the pawpaw bowl. You’re thinking, f**k, he’s lost the plot. I thought the same.”

He claimed urine therapy had “amazing benefits for your skin, your hair, to cleanse the system, to heal any ailments and dysfunctions in the body.”

“I wouldn’t be doing it for fun. There’s something about this – I know it, I feel it. That’s why I don’t give a f**k what anyone thinks. If you’re in a state in life where you’re struggling with some sort of disease, look into it. We were born in piss. We lived in piss for nine months. Our own piss, and our mothers’ piss. Think about that.”

While those statements suggest Wilson may need a refresher on the female reproductive system, urine therapy has had a cult following as an alternative therapy ever since it was popularised by a British naturopath early in the 20th century.

However, it is widely considered a pseudoscience and, while largely considered harmless, it may expose you to “environmental toxins that your body is desperately trying to eliminate.”

The American Cancer Society has also found “available scientific evidence does not support claims that urine or urea given in any form is helpful for cancer patients.”
