My Kitchen Rules: Jess and Emma defend rivals Sonya and Hadil
MY KITCHEN Rules contestants Emma and Jess were the targets of a shocking verbal attack in last night’s episode. But they’ve urged Australia to forgive Sonya and Hadil.
MY KITCHEN Rules contestants Jess and Emma have called for calm and asked people not to troll their rivals, Sonya and Hadil.
In last night’s much-hyped episode, Sonya and Hadil launched an extraordinary verbal attack on Jess and Emma, criticising their appearance and their cooking ability.
Viewers were shocked by their ferocity of their behaviour and many accused Channel 7 of promoting bullying in the My Kitchen Rules episode.

Speaking on Sunrise this morning, Jess and Emma accepted some responsibility for the heated clash and said: “We’re not making excuses for our behaviour.”
But in a classy act, the sisters defended Sonya and Hadil and urged people not to attack their rivals on social media.
“There is no place for bullying in any way, shape or form,” Jess said on Sunrise.
“I think Australia really needs to look at that if they’re so against bullying and what happened on the show, they just really need to go easy on the girls as well.
“Emma and I know first-hand what that’s like to be trolled online ... we’ve forgiven and I think Australia needs to do the same and bullying is not acceptable.”
Jess and Emma, who are currently holidaying in Hawaii, last night released a statement on Instagram and apologised to MKR fans for their behaviour.
“We want to apologise for our part in the drama that unfolded,” the statement said.
“We should not have engaged with any of the comments towards us. There is no excuse even if we were defending ourselves to act this way in another’s home. We don’t wish to add any more to the situation and certainly will not play the victim card.
“The only people to feel sorry for are the other contestants who felt uncomfortable and the hosts who were disrespected.
“To our young followers this is not acceptable behaviour and there a better ways to resolve issues. Be kind and stop the hate, the horrible nasty comments towards the girls is not needed.”

Sonya and Hadil have gone to ground in the past few days but did make a few comments on Instagram about the reality TV drama.
The pair claimed they are in fact the victims and were edited by My Kitchen Rules producers to look like villains.
“[We are] not in control of how we are portrayed but we lived it and can sleep well knowing the truth,” Sonya and Hadil reportedly wrote on Instagram.
“Australia doesn’t know the truth and if they did they would feel ashamed that they are attacking two women who are the victims.
“Imagine how we feel watching the episodes back when the episodes have been extremely tampered with (the amount of editing is insane).”
