Wildly awkward detail in steamy MAFS scene
Things got pretty raunchy on the controversial dating show this week – but one element made it much more uncomfortable.
With Married At First Sight’s Duncan James giving Alyssa Barmonde a particularly sensual massage on the show this week, it was easy to miss what was going on around them.
But viewers of Nine’s controversial dating show have hilariously pointed out the expression on the face of the sound technician given the dubious task of capturing the scene – and their reactions were priceless.
In a Reddit thread alongside a screenshot of his face, one user quipped: “He’s thinking about all of the decisions that got him to this moment.”
“This guy is all of us. This season has been putrid,” another added.
“Lol, that’s the sound dude – he’s definitely hearing things he definitely does not want to be hearing,” wrote a different user.
One person added: “Just imagine the sights and smells that man has encountered”, while another joked that “there’s a spray bottle in his little tac-vest in the event that the rats start getting too frisky and start producing un-airable content.”
During the scene, which aired on Thursday night, the situation got steamy between the “newlyweds” after Duncan offered to massage his partner, Alyssa.
“I think I’m making more noises than you,” he joked as he rubbed her body.
“It’s like two tectonic plates touching each other and at some point the tremors start … and then mountains are made.”
Alyssa later gushed over the encounter, telling producers: “He’s very nurturing, but he does also have a steamy, saucy side.”
While the pair have emerged as one of this season’s favourite couples, their relationship hit a snag earlier on in the experiment when Alyssa admitted to Duncan that she’d once been “complicit in an affair”.
“I was the other woman and I knew he was a married man,” she told him.
“It’s not something I’m proud of but it’s something I’ve been able to learn from. I also know now it’s something that will never happen again.”
A stunned Duncan was clearly struggling with the information, eventually responding that he was “pretty shocked”.
“I can understand when people stuff up sometimes when they go out but if you willingly went into something with someone that was married then it’s not a mistake, it’s a choice,” he told her.
Married At First Sight continues at 7pm Sunday on Channel 9.
