‘We talk every week’: MAFS star Ashley breaks silence on ‘date’ with Justin

WAS MAFS star Ashley getting revenge when she went on a romantic dinner with Carly’s ex Justin? She’s broken her silence on the rumours.

SHE was snapped on an “awkward date” with fellow Married At First Sight contestant Justin Fischer, but Ashley Irvin has denied rumours there’s a blossoming romance.

“No, it wasn’t a date. Justin and I are really close, we talk every week,” Irvin said on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa breakfast show this morning.

“Justin was just feeling down in the dumps, so we went out to dinner,” she said, adding they met up with more of their fellow castmates after the dinner.

‘Awkward AF date’? Or just two mates having dinner?

Rumours began to swirl about the potential new romance after a fan took a photo of Irvin and Fischer enjoying a meal at the Park Hyatt in Sydney last week. The fan posted the image to social media with the caption: “Forget the million dollar view, the real view is Ashley and Justin from MAFS on an awkward AF date while you eat dinner”.

On the controversial Channel 9 series, Fischer was originally “married” to Carly Bowyer while Irvin was matched with Troy Delmege. Fischer was captured on film saying he thought of his wife as a “little sister” and is “more attracted to girls like Ash”.

Since the series wrapped, Bowyer and Delmege have started dating. And the rumoured romance between Irvin and Fischer was just one final twist for fans of the complicated series — with some fans thinking Irvin was getting “revenge” on Bowyer.
