Viewers savage MAFS groom Jesse for his treatment of Claire

Viewers have torn apart a MAFS groom for the shockingly icy treatment he dished out to his wife during Monday night’s dinner party.

Things got extremely icy between a MAFS bride and groom during Monday night’s dinner party.

Viewers were dismayed by the treatment Perth marriage celebrant Jesse Burford, 30, dished out to Claire Nomarhas, 31 during the show.

In a previous episode, the couple’s Whitsundays honeymoon got off to a rocky start when Jesse had voiced his “icks”, ranting about “star sign” chicks before taking a dig at her for how she made comments about everything. She had then declared he was not her person and said “I’m f***ing done here”.

After not hearing anything from Jesse since the honeymoon disaster, Claire decided to be the bigger person and went to see him. She was pleased when he apologised for the star sign dig. However, she was left infuriated upon asking why he hadn’t come to see her, when he dropped this comment: “I don’t chase girls.”

He elaborated, however it didn’t help his case much: “I did consider coming to see you and every part of me was saying no way.”

Later, when talking to the camera, Claire said: “‘I don’t chase girls.’ Gross. Gross!”

Unfortunately, things got even worse at the dinner party, with Jesse and Claire the only couple to walk in separately, much to the shock of the other guests.

Eventually, Claire decided to extend an olive branch to Jesse by bringing him a beer, which he didn’t seem to appreciate all that much.

“Hi, how are you?” she asked Jesse, and he awkwardly responded: “Good thanks”.

“I chased him again but I just got nothing,” poor Claire looked like she wanted to burst into tears.

Then, at the dinner table they looked like they had frozen each other out. Next, there was more heated conversation between the two including about her being too loud.

“Claire was talking pretty loudly and I said ‘shh’,” Jesse said.

“... Claire is just a loud person that’s just who you are. I’m not drawn to loud people that’s a bit too much for me.”

Overall, viewers were not loving Jesee’s behaviour, calling him a “d***”, “the worst” and “ick”.
