‘Should be ashamed’: Married At First Sight nude pic twist
The fallout from the MAFS nude photo scandal has continued but just when we thought things couldn’t get any worse, a detail emerged that has many furious.
The fallout from the nude photo scandal continued on Sunday’s episode of Married At First Sight.
Viewers were united in voicing their fury at how Olivia handled the situation and dodged taking any responsibility by refusing to apologise to Domenica.
At the start of the ceremony, Olivia tried to downplay the situation and shift the blame onto Dom, a move which didn’t win her any support on social media.
“It was just such a nothing moment - I didn’t think it was a big deal,” Olivia said of the photo incident.
“When I say honestly there was no malice, it was just information that was dropped in my lap and thoughtlessly shared because I didn’t think it was a big deal.
“In my head I feel like she’s only upset about it because we were talking about it behind her back. Because that means she’s lost control of the group.”
Then, later on, Olivia was grilled further and again tried to be dismissive, saying the pictures were “public” and already on the internet.
Then, sex expert Alessandra dared to question her: “Maybe there’s some room for a little self exploration and a little human empathy because it’s very human to make mistakes and to maybe not know how to handle something.
“But if your behaviour is incorrect, there should be an apology for bad behaviour.”
That didn’t go down well with Olivia: “It’s just not in me. As far as empathy, I just don’t have it. It’s just not in me. And I’d be lying to your faces if I was like, ‘I have more empathy to give towards that situation’.”
Then came the waterworks.
At one point Olivia, baffling the others, said: “I feel like I’m constantly on the verge of tears, having to live in this drama.”
Say what?!
Viewers simply weren’t buying Olivia’s claims it wasn’t a big deal, which she had also claimed earlier in the episode when Domenica confronted her by knocking on her hotel room door.
Twitter user Jessa wrote: “Roll the tapes of Olivia bringing the photos up to every single person at the dinner party and saying comments like ‘it’s a bit much’, to now when she’s saying she ‘completely forgot about it’.”
If it wasnât a big deal why did Olivia share the images in the first place!? And why did everyone know except Mitch & Ella, the two people that would actually tell Dom. #mafsau#mafs

Others were amused about why she told a rather calm Dom to “stop yelling” at her.

Olivia: STOP YELLING AT ME YOUR PSYCHO#mafs#mafsau
Many viewers thought Olivia felt like she was not only blameless, but actually the victim in this scenario, another baffling twist.
Whoever says âOlivia doesnât deserve this backlashâ should remember:

1. This is series 9 & unless sheâs been living under a rock she wouldâve known Producers exploit everything to get ratings.
2. She still took the chance & has no excuse for vile behaviour & words #mafs#mafsaupic.twitter.com/WZ3DYYTqOU
Olivia is shocked her strategy didnât work AND that sheâs going to be the bad guy in all this.

In her mind sheâs always the victim of everyone elseâs wrong doing #mafs#mafsaupic.twitter.com/LaBHaojTKv

While the experts did question Olivia about the source of the photo, many were left disappointed at how they handled the situation - particularly relationship expert John Aiken.
Twitter user Vlada said: “Not once did I hear a sorry come out of any of those people’s mouths tonight!”
Olivia got off lightly. That was not the scolding we wanted to see #MAFS#MAFSAUpic.twitter.com/qIv1kU0tPZ

Really disappointed in the experts, not only do the other couple still don't get it was wrong, most were all still shaking their heads and rolling their eyes at John. #mafs#mafsau

the expert SAW Olivia rolling her eyes and showing disgust at what John was saying. Yet said nothing to call her out. #mafs#mafsau

While some praised how Dom handled herself.

Olivia is that we have all known someone like her in our lives and to see it unfold on tv is triggering. Dom is the person we all want to be in this scenario - unashamedly honest, loyal and fierce. #MarriedatfirstsightAustralia#mafs#MAFSAU
Jackson, on the other hand, was lashed for his support of his wife, despite admitting the nude photo sharing was “probably bad”.
Olivia is a person who lies, deflects & is a massive hypocrite & bully... Jackson enables her... #MAFSAU#MAFS#MAFSAustraliahttps://t.co/AhzoyXRoV3

When it came to Olivia’s supposed crocodile tears, social media users weren’t buying it.

Ultimately, social media users can’t wait to see Olivia go.
