Fans have called out Married At First Sight wife Bronte for supporting her husband Harrison despite being warned the relationship is toxic by the other brides.

Monday night’s episode kicked off with the couple gushing about their loved-up status amid some rather sickening commentary about another pair, Melinda and Leyton.

“I think she’s making him miserable,” Harrison said. “I see this guy who’s sitting on the couch talking and head down, that’s not the guy I met, it’s like you poor bloke. She must be a nutcase behind close doors.

“I feel like if he got a lobotomy and then removed his tongue Melinda would be happy with that. No arguing, no answering back. I think that’s the only way their relationship would work.”

Bronte laughed, before saying: “I don’t care about Melinda and Leyton. Harrison and I are great.”

Harrison jumped in with: “The experts are learning from us”.

While she responded with: “We are the blueprint they are going to use forever.”

He said: “Yeah John would say we’ve seen some meessed up f***ed up s**t in here but we know two people can work if out they have amazing wild sex.”

However, the drama really began when the couples came together at the retreat, and Harrison started insisting again that the butt-dial wasn’t real. Tension grew between Harrison and Evelyn, and Bronte jumped in to defend her husband.

“I always have his back no matter what,” she said.

“...He’s huge on behaviour so he just sits back and observes people’s behaviour, I’m never going to be able to control him. I will always have his back no matter what.”

Melinda tried to help her friend see the real situation: “I think that you’re moulding a bit, that you’re losing yourself a bit”.

However, she wouldn’t see it: “I don’t think so. I walked down the aisle to Harrison not you.”

Claire also tried: “I know emotional manipulation when I see it and I feel like that’s what Harrison is doing to you.”

This was also unsuccessful, as Bronte then told the camera: “Not once has Harrison tried to manipulate me. Harrison doesn’t control me … the reason why people keep trying to tear down my relationship with Harrison is because they’re jealous.

“They want what Harrison and I have.”

Bronte was also really upset by a comment Melinda had made: “We think you’re being naive”.

Bronte said: “To call me naive, that’s basically calling me dumb and that my relationship with Harrison isn’t real. That really hurts”.

Later, she told Lyndall: “It’s because my husband’s outspoken, and he says how he feels, and I love that about him! … Like, do I not deserve to be happy? Like, I’m so happy! And to fall in love with someone! Why am I being absolutely … completely ridiculed for choosing him?”

Fans were shocked at Bronte’s behaviour, and while many were convinced that’s it’s all an act and she’s being very fake, some were concerned for her in case it was all real.

There were even calls to boot the couple off the show.
