Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie’s emotional video statement after cheating scandal
Embattled couple Jackson Lonie and Olivia Frazer have shared a joint statement about the viral video that threw their relationship status into uncertainty this week.
Controversial MAFS stars Jackson Lonie and Olivia Frazer have put on a united front after Jackson was filmed kissing another woman last weekend.
Addressing fans in an emotional video, the pair revealed they’re choosing to stay together despite Jackson’s indiscretion during a night out in Melbourne last Friday.
Appearing alongside his “wife” in an Instagram video, Jackson admitted he “f**ked up” and was “seeking help” for self-medicating with alcohol following the stress of his tumultuous reality TV career.
The 30-year-old said he’d taken to getting “blackout drunk” to deal with negative backlash he’s received since appearing on the social experiment, thanking Olivia for standing by him.
“I’m just taking a second to jump on here and address what happened last weekend,” Jackson began, adding, “I f**ked up.
“The way I’ve kind of been dealing with [the negativity from the show] is to get blackout drunk, which don’t get me wrong, it isn’t an excuse, it’s not acceptable.
“It’s not the person I want to be. It’s not who I am,” he continued.
“I am seeking help to try and figure out new ways to combat my emotions and how to deal with this negativity.”
He went on to say he was “lucky to have Liv by his side”.
“She has been nothing but an angel throughout it all,” he added, as Olivia looked lovingly towards him and said: “Aww, that’s nice babe.”
Olivia remarked that they were “hanging in there” as a couple and had no intention of breaking up.
“We’re staying together. We’ve got a lot of healing to do, but ultimately, we love each other and it’s not worth throwing it away” she said.
The statement comes after footage of Jackson kissing a brunette woman at Melbourne nightclub Lava Lounge, in Berwick, emerged over the weekend.
Jackson had been out for dinner with “wife” Olivia Frazer and a group of friends nearby before heading out to the club solo where the drunken party pash occurred on Friday night.
Speaking to Kyle and Jackie O producers Pedro Vitola and Jaimee Hassos, the woman at the centre of the scandal, Han Hughes, said: “It was just a kiss, but I did get his number at the end of the night.”
She elaborated: “When I said goodbye, I asked him for his number, so he gave me his phone and I saved my number in it.”
Mixed reports followed about whether Jackson and Olivia were still together after the kiss, with a “friend of the couple” telling Yahoo! on Monday that Olivia and Jackson were “officially over,” despite photos emerging of the pair together at Sydney Airport on the same day.
“Jackson didn’t really apologise but instead said he hasn’t been happy for a while, which broke Olivia’s heart more,” the source told Yahoo!
Now, the couple’s joint statement has cleared up any confusion about their relationship status.
