MARRIED At First Sight’s Davina Rankin has broken her silence in the wake of her affair scandal, admitting she’s having a “hard time” coping with the public’s rage.

MARRIED At First Sight’s cheating bride Davina Rankin has opened up about the toll the affair has taken on her.

The Brisbane-based Instagram model, 26, quickly became one of the most unpopular figures on the Australian reality TV landscape over the past week after openly pursuing another woman’s husband on the dating reality series.

The pair snuck off during last week’s dinner party to canoodle in the corner.

Expecting to finally reveal their secret relationship during Sunday night’s commitment ceremony, Davina was left stunned when Dean Wells publicly announced he’d be staying with his wife Tracey instead.

After days of keeping a low profile, the controversial contestant broke her silence via social media to Hit 105’s Stav, Abby and Matt on Tuesday morning, admitting she was having a “hard time” with the backlash she’s experienced from viewers.

“A lot happened behind the scenes,” Davina wrote in a message to the hosts.

“It’s so hard for me to even watch the show as I know the context of the conversations and some of the sentences are from days before so it’s almost impossible for me to make sense.”

She added that she’s a “good person” underneath it all.

“I know it’s everyone’s job whether it is selling magazines or getting listeners on the radio,” Davina said. “But until it directly affects you it’s really hard to get your head around.”

After news broke of the ‘affair’, Davina and her husband Ryan were left in the uncomfortable position of having to stay together anyway, thanks to the rules of the show.

Tensions were running high as they arrived at Ryan’s home — their living quarters for the next week — and Davina attempted to justify her behaviour.

“I’m not going to not feel a certain way, just because you don’t like it. I’m going to do me,” she told Ryan defiantly.

“It is what it is ... I can’t really help the way I felt.”
