Married At First Sight: Viewers refuse to forgive Ines

Ines tearfully apologised to Bronson and Elizabeth for her affair with Sam, but it wasn’t enough for viewers to forgive her.

MAFS 2019 Episode 41 Recap: The Season Finale

The majority of Married At First Sight viewers seemed unwilling to forgive Ines for her past behaviour on the reality show despite watching her break down in tears last night.

Ines was this season’s original villain and she sparked outrage with her treatment of Bronson and subsequent affair with Sam.

But during last night’s emotional reunion, Ines faced the music and apologised to both Bronson and Elizabeth (Sam’s “wife”) for her behaviour.

She opened up about the emotional toll her fling with Sam (who didn’t show up for the reunion) had taken on her and claimed he had led her on.

“He was very good at making you think you’re the s**t person,” she said. “I’m not saying I’m perfect, I’m heavily flawed.

“But when someone is consistently doing these things to you with empty promises and then just totally falling off the face of the earth … and then they’re telling you that you’re bats**t crazy, then you’re like, ‘Now I’m bats***t crazy so I’m the problem,’ and then you just hate yourself.”

Ines told the other contestants that she had genuine feelings for Sam but was betrayed by him.

“When you find someone and you can be so open and vulnerable with them, obviously you guys didn’t see what we were like behind closed doors or what our personal communications were like, I don’t know, it’s just devastating,” she said.

Despite Ines’ touching speech, viewers refused to forgive and forget with some even accusing her of crocodile tears.

It wasn’t all negative feedback for Ines though. Many viewers congratulated her for fronting up and owning her behaviour.
