Married At First Sight: Jess confirms Dan dumped her after reunion filming

Married At First Sight’s Jess has dropped a bombshell about her relationship with Dan, revealing what she did that pushed him over the edge.

Married At First Sight’s Jess has revealed Dan dumped her after the filming of this season’s last episode.

Jess and Dan had an affair behind their respective partners’ backs on the reality show before confessing their love for one another and continuing in the experiment as a couple.

Things appeared to be going well for the pair, but in the final reunion episode, which will air on Monday night, Dan discovers Jess tried to make a move on Nic.

Speaking to news.com.au at Fitzy and Wippa’s Married At First Sight dinner party last night, Jess revealed Dan was so upset by what he saw he ended their relationship, albeit only for a few days.

“Dan and I did have a little break after the reunion,” Jess said at the Nova event.

“He’d seen the video of me saying I was sexually attracted to Nic, and his ego was hurt. Dan already knew about the conversation between Nic and I, he just didn’t know the extent of it.”

The footage proved too much for Dan.

“He said, ‘Obviously we’re not together now’,” Jess said. “And I said, ‘Whatever, I never got what I wanted out of this relationship anyway’. I was being a brat.

“Two days later Dan reached out to me again, and I realised how much I missed him. We had a bit of a break, and we’re at the best we could ever be right now.”

Jess told news.com.au things between her and Dan were now fantastic and she confirmed she’d moved to the Gold Coast to be closer to him and is planning to meet his family and his son in a few weeks.

The reality contestant is well aware some fans will believe she was actively looking for someone to have an affair with on the show to extend her five minutes of fame, but she says she was never really into Nic.

“I think people may think I was looking for an affair, but I was also looking for an out from my horrible relationship with Mick,” she told news.com.au. “He was way more horrible to me than the public get to see.

Nic was ‘married’ to Cyrell.

Jessika and Dan are still together.

“The producers asked me, ‘Are you sexually attracted to Nic?’ And you always have to put the question in the answer and I said, ‘Yeah, I am sexually attracted to Nic. He’s a good-looking guy’.

“Nic and I were always friends throughout the experiment. He’s a great guy, but it was never really like, ‘I’d swap with you in the experiment’. I was just trying to put into his head that he deserved better than Cyrell.”

A teaser for Monday night’s episode shows Jess squirming on the couch as the footage of her admitting she is sexually attracted to Nic plays on a screen in front of all the other contestants.

She claims producers played the clip over and over again to the group until they got the reaction they wanted from Nic.

“It was bad,” Jess told news.com.au.

“I have the whole group yelling at me. I was going, ‘No, I wasn’t hitting on you’, and Nic’s trying to defend me, and I’ve got John (Aiken) going, ‘All right, let’s watch it again’. We did it about five times until Nic was like, ‘Yeah, she was hitting on me’.”

After Dan had seen the footage and ended their relationship, Jess was a mess and lashed out at producers.

“My relationship was in shreds with the guy I genuinely was in love with,” Jess said.

“I was hurt, I was angry, and I remember kicking up a stink when I was asked to do an interview with producers on camera after. I said, ‘What more do you f***ing want to ruin?’”

Other MAFS contestants at Fitzy and Wippa’s dinner party included Ning, Billy, Mike, Melissa, Cam, Jules and Dan.
