MAFS wife slammed as new season’s ‘villain’

There was a frosty vibe on Sunday night’s MAFS with one wife’s antics blowing up social media, as many dub her this season’s “villain”.

It seems producers have saved this year’s Married At First Sight villain until last.

The final weddings aired Sunday night on Nine, where we met Queensland-based businesswoman Melinda Willis, 32, and her new ‘husband’, Biotech CEO Layton Mills, 35.

The pair didn’t hit it off from the get-go, with Melinda immediately writing the NSW man off over his appearance, as viewers compared her to season nine’s Tamara Djordjevic.

During the wedding ceremony, Melinda dropped some “nasty” comments about her groom not being as attractive as her.

”He may be punching just a little … I would swipe left,” she said.

She also offered little hope for their union in general.

“I run and operate multiple businesses and I do have high expectations. From what I’ve seen so far, this is not worth my time,” she said.

Later, when they kissed, she cringed the whole way through and then said: “The kiss was definitely not sexy. It was, like, a bit sloppy.”

When they had a second kiss for their wedding photographs, she criticised him for putting his tongue in her mouth, called the kiss “weird” and said it was the “most awkward” situation of her life.

She also criticised his mentioning of a “money tree” at his childhood home, assuming it meant he must have grown up rich and was “born into” his success as a CEO.

When she learnt it was a joke between him and his mother, she pondered whether she had judged him too quickly.

But this wasn’t enough to save Melinda’s image in the eyes of viewers, who took to Twitter to call her out for being “insufferable” and “rude”.

Monday night’s MAFS will see the return of the infanous dinner party, where all this season’s contestants will meet for the first time for a boozy evening.

And it seems there’s going to be drama aplenty, with Melinda seen advising Bronte Schofield to “run, fast” from her TV ‘husband’ Harrison Boon.

MAFS continues tonight at 7.30pm on Nine
