MAFS stars Eden Harper and Jayden Eynaud’s shock split: ‘Didn’t choose me’

Eight months into their relationship, the couple has called it quits with a heartbreaking statement on social media.

Married At First Sight couple Eden Harper and Jayden Eynaud have called it quits.

Eden, 28, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the sad news with fans, confirming the relationship had ended after eight months.

“When I made the decision at final vows to be with Jayden, I really did that with the intention of it being forever,’” she wrote.

“Jayden & I spent many months together after the experiment, Cub gained a dad and I gained a whole second family who I’m truly grateful for.”

Eden went on: “I’m saddened to share that toward the end of the show airing, our relationship came to an end. The reality is, the person I chose, didn’t choose me.

“While I’m disappointed that what you saw didn’t translate in the real world, I will never regret this experiment, the people I met, the lessons I learnt and the growth it has had on me.”

Meanwhile, a source told the Daily Mail that the break-up had blindsided Eden, coming “completely out of the blue”, and had left her “shattered”.

“Eden was in the dark about the whole thing and still doesn’t know how Jayden feels about her,” the insider said.

“Jayden didn’t really give her any real reason for breaking up with her.

“She tried her best to try and get things to work out and fix whatever issues he had but he wasn’t willing to play the game.’

“He just completely switched off one day and it wasn’t the same.”

The source added that cracks started appearing in the relationship, which began with Eden and Jayden being matched on the most recent season of Nine’s dating show, after the couple returned to the Gold Coast once filming ended.
