MAFS star Susie dishes on ‘amazing’ boyfriend Todd Carney

MAFS star Susie has gushed about her relationship with former NRL star Todd Carney, revealing the unusual way they first connected.

Married At First Sight contestant Susie Bradley has opened up about her blossoming relationship with former NRL player Todd Carney, describing it as “full-blown love”.

Aged care nurse Susie, 25, was matched with barista Billy Vincent on the latest season of Nine’s smash hit dating show, but the pair didn’t hit it off and chose to leave the show after a few weeks.

The single mum has already found love with someone else, she confirmed on post-MAFS panel show Talking Married this week.

“It’s, like, totally amazing. I’m like a little schoolgirl when I talk about it,” she said. “I met someone after the show, and I’m actually in full-blown love, it’s totally amazing,” Susie said.

Pressed for more details, Susie revealed she and Todd, 32, had first connected via social media.

“His name’s Todd, and he’s lovely. And we met on Instagram. It was a little bit of a like-for-like scenario, and then he messaged me, and then we met up, and we haven’t left each other’s side since.”

Susie insisted, despite her new boyfriend’s sporting background and her role on Australia’s most-watched TV show, neither were aware of who the other was when they first connected.

“So the day I started following him — I was sort of looking at a lot of people’s Instagrams — I was looking for good-looking people. And he didn’t know that I was on the show either because I didn’t want him to know until I knew he liked me for me. And it was kind of the same with him and his football. I don’t follow football — sorry Todd.”

The former Dally M Medal winner finally confirmed his feelings for his 25-year-old girlfriend last week on Instagram where they both professed their love for each other in public comments.

“You are the most beautiful, understanding and patient man I have ever known,” Susie wrote in an Instagram caption accompanying a photo of the pair.

“Your pretty easy to love so wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you,” Todd responded.

A photo shared by Todd’s mother Leanne Carney earlier this month shows Susie enjoying dinner with the former sports star and his mum.

It comes after Susie had been much more reticent to confirm her relationship with Todd during earlier media interviews.

She was quizzed during an interview with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa last month after flirty comments between the pair on Instagram were noticed by fans.

“Did you ever have a rendezvous with a man called Todd Carney?” Fitzy asked her.

“I don’t know who that is,” Susie replied, to which he pressed: “Were you two together at some stage?”

“Oh, maybe in passing, maybe in passing — that’s about it,” she told him.
