Jules’ telling post after Mel’s claim she was dumped as bridesmaid

Jules Robinson has posted a veiled response to fellow MAFS star Mel’s claims she was ditched as bridesmaid.

MAFS 2019: Where are the cast now?

Betrothed Married At First Sight star Jules Robinson has posted telling Instagram photo amid the great bridesmaid ditching war of 2019.

A public feud erupted among the most recent crop of Married At First Sight contestants earlier this week, with Melissa Lucarelli accusing former friend Jules Robinson of dumping her as a bridesmaid and using her for publicity.

And it appears Jules has subtly hit back at her on Instagram, posting a caption seemingly directed at Mel.

“Every action has a reaction. Let’s be mindful in all our choices we make,” she posted beneath the image below.

It comes after fellow MAFS alum Jessika Power sided with Melissa, dubbing Jules “calculated” in a comment posted on Instagram about the furore earlier this week.

Jess says she’s backing Mel on this one.

“I actually have to back Mel on this. Throughout filming, Jules would say Martha [Kalifatidis] and I were only there for social media and endorsements, but since the show ended it seems that’s all Jules is for also,” Jess wrote.

“It’s really sad to see that Jules dropped Mel as a bridesmaid but not surprising, it seems everything that woman does these days is calculated and beneficial for her and her only.”

In March, Jules, 37, and Cam Merchant, 34, became the first couple in the show’s history to get engaged and are scheduled to tie the knot next month.

During the MAFS reunion episode, which aired in April, Jules was seen asking Melissa, along with Heidi Latcham, to be her bridesmaids.

However, Melissa, 38, has since revealed to NW Magazine that she believes the invitation was simply a “publicity” stunt and that the bride-to-be had dumped her from the bridal party and called her a “sh*t friend” when she’d protested.

“One day we were texting about family and babies, then two days later she was dumping me as a bridesmaid,” she explained.

According to Melissa, Jules told her via text message that: “Just ‘cause I said it on the show doesn’t meant (sic) I have to do it.”

“Not only was the text cold, but she used our friendship for her own publicity,” Melissa said.

“She was posting about how amazing it was and how much she loved me, but it was clearly all an act. I feel completely blindsided by this, as our relationship and everything was real to me.

“When I asked her how I was a bad friend she couldn’t answer me, then kept changing her reasoning behind it. Now Cam and Jules are making money, she doesn’t need me anymore and she also doesn’t want me to get any publicity.”

Since the show ended, Jules has picked up ambassadorships with brands including Weight Watchers and Olay.

Melissa was one of the two hundred guests at the couple’s engagement party in April.

It comes just months after another set of former BFFs from MAFS, Elizabeth Sobinoff and Cyrell Paule, engaged in a very public slanging match over the breakdown of their friendship, with Elizabeth accusing her co-star of having a “publicity stunt” relationship with Love Island’s Eden Dally.
