‘I don’t know’: MAFS star’s cringe-worthy interview

The MAFS star appeared on Today Extra to discuss an exciting new project — which she then claimed to know nothing about.

Married At First Sight’s Elizabeth Sobinoff has stumbled her way through a TV interview, claiming to know nothing about the subject matter she was brought on to discuss.

In cringe-worthy scenes, Sobinoff appeared on Today Extra to discuss reports she and MAFS co-star Cyrell Paule were in talks for a new reality show.

Introducing the segment, Sonia Kruger said: “Now Elizabeth and Cyrell are joining forces to star in their own reality TV show.”

“So we brought Lizzie in to tell us all about it … so what is this project with Cyrell?” David Campbell asked.

“I don’t know,” Sobinoff replied, with things getting even more awkward from there.

Campbell: (joking) “OK, thanks for coming in.”

Sobinoff: “Um yeah, so I just heard about it, I have no idea about …”

Campbell: “What do you mean you just heard about it?”

Sobinoff: “I heard about it.”

Campbell: “When?”

Sobinoff: “One of my best friends had forwarded me the link and goes, ‘What are you doing?’ and I go, ‘I don’t know anything about this’.”

Campbell: “So who talked about it then, (Paule) did?”

Sobinoff: “She must of.”

Campbell: “So let’s spitball some ideas …”

Sobinoff: “It could be a really good idea though, this could be a really good idea.”

Both hosts appeared perplexed that Sobinoff appeared to know nothing about the subject she was brought on to discuss.

At this point Kruger stepped in, saying she had heard it was a “Simple Life type of scenario” being suggested for the two MAFS stars.

“I don’t know anything about this but that would actually be really fun, I would do that with her, I would definitely do that with her,” Sobinoff said.

“So she hasn’t spoken to you about this, have you been in contact with Cyrell?” Campbell asked.

“I have been in contact with her, there has been a little bit of talking that it would be cool to do something, but nothing … I reckon it would be a good show, but I don’t know much about this,” the MAFS star added.

Sobinoff was one of this year’s most popular MAFS contestants and was “married” to Sam Ball.

Ball came under fire for making unflattering comments about Sobinoff's appearance and later had a secret relationship with Ines Basic and left the show.

In May, reports first surfaced that Sobinoff and Paule were being scouted for a Simple Life-style reality show that would see them travel around Australia.

But Paule told news.com.au at the time she had heard nothing about the plans until she read about them in print.
