Former MAFS contestant Stacey Hampton appears in court after allegedly breaching COVID-19 directions
A former Married at First Sight star has fronted court after being accused of breaching COVID-19 directions to go on a shopping trip.
A former MAFS contestant will remain on bail after appearing in court over allegedly breaching COVID-19 directions.
Stacey Lee Hampton, 27, was charged with three counts of breaching COVID-19 directions last year after going on an interstate shopping trip when she should have been self-isolating.
She was arrested at Adelaide Airport on May 6 as she travelled back home from Melbourne.
At the time, only essential travellers were exempt from quarantine, but non-essential travellers needed to isolate for two weeks.
The court has previously heard that Ms Hampton’s offences allegedly took place in the suburbs of Hackney, Gawler East and Ingle Farm.
She now faces fines of up to $20,000 and two year in jail for each count, if found guilty.
Appearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday, she wore a black short sleeved dress with gold buttons and sparkling silver stilettos.
Ms Hampton did not comment after her brief appearance.
Ms Hampton’s case was adjourned and she is due to reappear in April.
She shot to fame after she appeared on the Nine Network’s Married At First Sight in 2020.
On the show, Ms Hampton matched with Michael Goonan, but the pair later split.
The mother-of-two took to Instagram the day before her court appearance, posting a selfie in a bathroom.
“I keep moving forward so the past doesn’t follow me and remind me where I went wrong”, the caption read.
Mr Goonan was quick to comment on the post, saying: “Every now and again it’s nice to slam the car into reverse”.
It prompted Ms Hampton to reply: “Only if I’m reversing into you darling”.
