Cheating MAFS groom breaks down on live TV

DEAN Wells has raised plenty of eyebrows during this season of MAFS, but a live interview last night may have provided his most shocking TV moment yet.

MARRIED At First Sight’s most divisive contestant Dean Wells has broken down in tears on live TV.

Touted as the villain of this season from the very beginning, Dean’s remorse over his affair with another bride behind his “wife” Tracey Jewel’s back has been considered fairly questionable by viewers.

During Wednesday night’s episode, Tracey cried at the group dinner party as she talked about how much he’d hurt her in an incredibly tense scene.

Appearing on Nine’s Talking Married right afterwards, Dean himself became overcome with emotion, and co-host Jayne Azzopardi called it out.

“You’ve just watched that episode, and you’re looking a little teary,” she said. “So tell us, why the emotion?”

“I kind of forgot about that whole night,” Dean responded, with tears in his eyes. “It all kind of caught up with me, watching all that back, and watching Tracey’s reaction.”

The presenters then grilled him on when the consequences of his actions had finally hit him.

“I was starting to realise how it had affected people, and how it affected Tracey,” he said. “That night it all came to a head a little bit ... I maybe just pulled my head in a little bit. And had to be honest about it, I suppose.”

There’s been plenty of speculation about whether or not Dean and Tracey are still together, given that the show was filmed before Christmas.

In recent weeks, Tracey was photographed at a hotel in Bali with Sean Thomsen, another groom from the series, while Dean was pictured hosting a mystery blond in his apartment late into the night.

Speaking on radio with Fitzy and Wippa this morning, Dean was coy when grilled on Tracey’s rumoured relationship with Sean.

“There was (sic) a few people from Married hanging out [in Bali] for an event ... As far as I’m concerned, there was nothing suspicious about those photos,” he told the Nova hosts.

Dean also rubbished reports that Troy Delmege is actually a paid actor, hired through an agency to appear on the show.

“I hung with Troy on the weekend, he and I are really good mates. If he’s an actor, he’s got me fooled in real life as well, because we have a good time.”
