Married At First Sight compared to Game of Thrones
ONE is a bloodthirsty fantasy and the other a reality TV dating show, but social media followers still managed to link Game Of Thrones with Married At First Sight.
ONE is a bloodthirsty fantasy and the other a reality TV dating show, but social media followers still managed to link Game Of Thrones with Married At First Sight.
The Nine Network dating series is a Twitter treat for trolls and heaven for the show’s engrossed viewers who watched Zoe being matched with Alex and Michelle hit-it off with James.
The couples, who have never met, set eyes on each other for the first time at the “altar” of a commitment ceremony.
Zoe, however, looked uncomfortable on Monday, failing to even set eyes on Alex who was adored by many on Facebook but no so much at the “wedding” by his new bride.
It earned Zoe being likened to Game Of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen who is known as the Queen of Dragons.
“Does Zoe have dragons at her command by any chance?,” posted @ImBrettBowman.
It wasn’t the only Game Of Thrones reference with one fan saying it would been the perfect way for pure-heart Sansa Stark to have met the-evil Ramsay Bolton.
“And now we will turn to our fifth couple’s honeymoon, Ramsey and Sans... Oh no, never mind,” posted @OliviaIllyria.
Zoe’s hard exterior and refusal to show any emotion or affection towards Alex hit a nerve with many of the female fans.
“Zoe is a nightmare ... What about even just looking at him for one second?” posted @jones_boy.
“OK Zoe & Alex are the most awkward couple! Could Zoe be anymore disinterested?!,” wrote @silbus.
And @pardnmyfrench wrote: “She’s just not that into you. Poor Alex ????.” Even after all the awkwardness and lack of interest, Zoe and Alex did lock lips towards the end of the second episode unlike the second couple Michelle and James who were almost inseparable. The pair even ducked out of the sight of the cameras to pash but left their microphones on. Cue, awkward moment.
“What a smitten kitten on #MarriedAtFirstSight ??,:” wrote @cleee Such is the appeal of Married At First Sight, people confessed on Twitter to actually dumping Q&A in favour of the dating series, or switching between the two.
“Sorry ditched #qanda for #MarriedAtFirstSight - toss up which is furthest from reality...,” wrote @LindaWhiteASU.
“I’m missing #QandA for #MarriedAtFirstSight I guess heart triumphs over head,” tweeted @mirasety.
“I feel like I need to do a Twitter cull because there are #MarriedAtFirstSight tweets clogging up my #QandA tweets.”
