James Weir recaps SAS Australia 2021 episode 3 | Celebrity cheater exposed on secret video

A lying celeb has been named and shamed after getting caught cheating by a covert camera. James Weir recaps.

A celebrity contestant on SAS Australia is busted cheating on Wednesday when it’s revealed that this program — a reality show — has cameras filming the participants at all times.

It’s shocking. SHOCKING. Almost more shocking than when the C-word gets thrown around later in the episode.

Prime time television is just despicable these days. Cheaters and C-words? We expect that kinda filth from The Bachelor — or even those ferals over on Better Homes and Gardens — but not SAS Australia.

The celebs are dropping like flies tonight. Emma Husar throws in the towel. Same with Manu. He was already at breaking point because of the bland food. Tonight, he finally snaps.

“I came on this course to prove something to myself and I just realised I don’t need to prove anything. I’ve got a f**king good life. I’ve got a f**king good life and I want it back,” his voice shakes.

So he quits — ready to return to a life of well-seasoned food.

It’s now time for the celebs to experience a little challenge called Death By Drowning. It’s a fun game where they each get locked inside a car that’s then submerged underwater and they have to stay trapped for 40 seconds before they’re allowed to escape. It’s intense. Especially when you remember that these people are choosing to do this instead of getting a real job.

Bonnie Anderson desperately wants to quit but the soldiers refuse to accept the resignation. She doesn’t think she can go through with it. Bra Boy Koby steps in with some wise words.

“Imagine having three kids and your wife f**king your best mate and sh*t, you know?” he says. “That sh*t happens everyday.”

Um. OK. Oddly specific and totally not relatable.

This is the first episode where Koby gets his own storyline. He truly dazzles. And when it comes time for the celebrities to complete a physical assault course, he makes it his mission to stand out from the pack.

Before the challenge begins, the celebs are told to order themselves from fittest to weakest in what is basically the SAS version of Married At First Sight’s Hot Or Not ranking game. Koby insists on slotting in at number one. Sure, there are professional athletes and Olympic gold medallists. Even an Ironman. But in Koby’s mind, he’s top dog.

“I’m a confident man. I’m good lookin’, I’m strong. I’m fit — I’m walkin’ ‘round with a six pack all ripped and feelin’ great,” he brags to us.

Can’t believe he said all that with a straight face.

So Koby’s first cab off the rank — running between the five different stations to complete the exercises that range from tyre flips and sandbag lifts to log squats and push-ups.

“Push-ups — 30, yeah?” he asks one of the soldiers.

“Always 30,” the soldier confirms in a low, robotic voice before walking away to another station.

The way the course is set up, it’s impossible for the soldiers to monitor all celebrities at all times. Thankfully, this is a reality show with cameras installed everywhere to catch out any big dirty cheaters.

The soldiers meet afterwards to review the secret footage and also catch up on the latest ep of the new Gossip Girl reboot.

What do they find? Well. Apparently Koby can count how many abs he has but he can’t count 30 push-ups. The secret footage shows he only did 15. The celebrities are promptly summoned to the parade square for a public shaming.

“If you didn’t complete and do all the repetitions on each and every exercise, step forward!” the head soldier screams.

Everyone gets nervous and starts second-guessing themselves. Maybe they miscounted by accident?

Sam Burgess, Jessica Peris, Bonnie Anderson, Pete Murray and Mark Philippoussis take a step to the front. Basically everyone except the Bra Boy.

“We can give or take one or two (miscounts),” the soldiers roll their eyes and tell them all to step back in line. “Anyone else want to step forward? It’s your one opportunity to own up to it and say, ‘I f**ked up’.”

The main soldier walks up to Koby and stares him down. “Anything you wanna tell me?”

We kinda wish Koby took the opportunity to brag about his abs again.

‘It’s a six pack. A real one. I don’t even have to suck my stomach in or anything.’

Koby refuses to admit he cheated. This means punishment for everyone — and an interrogation for the Ab King Pro.

“I’m gonna ask you a simple question,” one of the soldiers says as Koby is chained to a metal chair in the concrete cell. “Do you think we’re c**ts?”

Hmm. Well. Allow us to answer that question with our own question: Does Koby have a six pack?

‘No comment.’

The soldiers yank out the laptop. Yes, expose him! They hit play and the footage rolls. The grainy video shows the measly 15 push-ups.

Koby starts spluttering the beginnings of different excuses but he can’t get his story straight.

“I was tired,” he stutters. “I was … I … ah … I didn’t … I didn’t mean it. I just wouldn’t have cheated. The evidence is there and I’ll take full responsibility but I’m not a cheat.”

He’s sent back to tell the other celebrities about the torture they’re all about to endure because of his lie. You’d think he’d do it with a little grace and remorse. But this is Koby. He struts back in to the sleeping quarters, determined to prove that, while he might be a cheat, he still has a six pack.

“What I want youse to know is they’re basing my whole integrity on 15 push-ups and, I promise ya, I can do as many push-ups as all of youse put together,” he grunts.

Oh Kobes.

“I promise I did that trial faster than any of youse. Especially you!” he points to Ironman Jett Kenny.

Clearly there’s issues of jealousy going on here. And for the purpose of fair and balanced reporting, it must be stated on the record that Jett has a 17 pack.
