Inside every completed house from The Block 2020

The Block is over for another season – with Jimmy and Tam crowned winners. Here, we take a look inside each build.

The Block: 'Mystery blonde' goes head-to-head against IT millionaire Danny Wallis

The Block 2020 is over with all five houses sold, a record smashed and an eccentric millionaire three houses richer.

Each couple made a profit this year, the culmination of 12 weeks spent transforming their period homes to a stunning result.

See the finished houses and sale prices below:

1ST PLACE – JIMMY AND TAM, $4.256 MILLION

The Block 2020 winners Jimmy and Tam’s 1950s-inspired home sold for a whopping $4.256 million – that’s $966,000 over their reserve, smashing all previous Block records.

Before now, the highest profit over reserve was achieved by 2015’s Darren and Deanne, who earned $935,000 (and that was including their $100,000 prize money).

After opening bids of $3.2 million and $3.25 million, eccentric millionaire and serial Block bidder Danny Wallis piped up with a bid of $4.2 million – a jump of almost $1 million.

But in the end, the winning bid came from a young woman, later revealed as Emese Fajk, who only visited the house for the first time the night before. This was after a bizarre bid from Mr Wallis of “4,241,691.18.” Yes, 18 CENTS.

But would you just look at their Palm Springs-inspired front yard?

2ND PLACE – SARAH AND GEORGE, $4,000,002

Keen bidder Wallis secured his first auction win with Sarah and George’s 1940s reno, buying the house for the oh-so-Danny Wallis price of $4,000,002 – that’s four-million-and-two dollars.

It gave the underdog couple an amazing profit of $650,002.

Their completed build celebrated the era with an injection of modern luxury.

3RD PLACE – HARRY AND TASH, $4 MILLION

House one – a 1920s design – was again bought by Danny Wallis for $4 million exactly.

Wallis gave another jaw-dropping final bid to secure his third Block property in a row, pushing the price from $3.475 million to $4 million in a single bid.

It meant Harry and Tash went home with the $650,000 profit over their reserve.

4TH PLACE – LUKE AND JASMIN, $3,856,000

Luke and Jasmin’s 1910 period home sold for $3,856,000 – that’s $506,000 over the reserve.

Millionaire IT boss Danny Wallis put in a number of bids, but in the end he and The Block buyer’s agent Nicole Jacobs were pipped by two blonde women and their buyer’s advocate dialling in on Zoom.

Here’s what they picked up for the price:

5TH PLACE – DANIEL AND JADE, $3.8 MILLION

Danny Wallis really added to his property portfolio on the day – locking in Daniel and Jade’s 1930s home, too.

He did it with another knockout bid, offering $3.8 million, a massive $325,000 leap from the previous top bid of $3.475 million.

That means four-time Block applicants Daniel and Jade scored a $460,000 profit over their reserve. Before the auction, the humble couple said they were just hoping to make $20,000 – enough to send all their parents on holiday.

This is what they presented to auction:
