I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2021: First promo for new season drops
We have our first I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! promo, and it’s prompted wild speculation about who could be starring in the upcoming season.
We have our very first I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! promo, and it features plenty of madness to soak up thanks to hosts Dr Chris Brown and Julia Morris.
Belting out an original song dressed as a range of Australian icons, the clip opens to Dr Chris as Crocodile Dundee and Julia Morris as Kylie Minogue, who tell us things are going to be a little different this year as the show is “staying home” and filming in Australia.
But while the early clues about who will be starring are thin, many are beginning to speculate none other that Pete Evans may be on the bill.
Opening up about the rumours on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa this morning, comedian Morris said she, too, hoped it was true.
“Surely at a minimum there’s been a conversation,” she said.
“I saw the rumours in the paper and I said please let that be true because that might actually make my year!”
Fitzy agreed that the controversial celebrity chef is “fascinating” to watch.
Over on Kyle and Jackie O’s radio show this morning, however, Morris hinted she may know more than she’s letting on.
She said there are a number of celebrities with “different schools of thought” heading to the outback.
“The cast that they have assembled together I think are going to generate some amazing TV for us, because there’s lots of different schools of thought going in” she teased.
“After COVID, where we all had various stages of lockdown and were surrounded by people that have a very like mind to you, to now be locked in with people who have very very different thoughts is going to be exciting,” she added.
Could it be Paleo Pete’s controversial views she’s referring to?
While we were expecting a group of all-Aussie stars this year given travel restrictions, Julia, fresh from her stint as the Kitten on The Masked Singer, hinted in today’s musical promo that we may still see an international celeb or two.
“Kind of famous people from here and abroad have signed up for January 3rd,” she sings.
Interesting…
As the promo rolls, the hosts appear as some of the most iconic Aussie pop culture figures of all time – think Muriel’s Wedding, Mad Max, Picnic At Hanging Rock and even Dr Chris in drag for Priscilla.

The promo comes following the news I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here won’t be filmed it South Africa due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The Channel 10 reality show will instead be filmed at a site near Murwillumbah in NSW in 2021.
It’s the same location where the UK version of I’m A Celeb has been filmed for the past few seasons.
In July, Dr Chris told news.com.au they were looking at “quite a few options” for where the show could be filmed.
“We still want that sense of adventure and sense of discovery for our celebrities and we want them to be out of their comfort zones,” he said. “That’s obviously where we get our best discovery moments and where we get to truly know who our celebrities really are.”
As for who the celebrities will be, Dr Chris told us they were already “circling a few people”.
“A lot of the people who we’d be looking at haven’t really been in the news yet,” he said. “It’s kind of over the next couple of months we look at who’s around and who do people want to know more about and who are those figures that are intriguing people.”
In today’s promo, the hosts drop three celebrity clues: A popstar, renowned chef and an AFL player.
Earlier this month, Woman’s Day quoted a source fuelling rumours Bec Hewitt is set to appear.
We’ll soon find out.
