I’m A Celebrity host Rob Irwin watched on in horror as one of the star’s of this year’s series had a bloody encounter with a rat.

It was Ellie Cole’s turn for to have a go at a jungle trial, and she was faced with being lowered down into a pit with all sorts of creepy-crawlies and critters hidden away in holes she had to reach inside for a precious star.

There was one hole in particular that proved especially tough for Cole, who quickly learned that rats can be territorial little critters.

As she reached in for the star, one of the rats quickly launched an attack and latched onto the swimmer, refusing to let go.

Cole screamed out in pain as Irwin exclaimed: “Oh my god it’s latched on! Get your hand out!”

“Oh my god it hurts! It hurts,” exclaimed Cole.

Julia Morris echoed her co-hosts concern, shouting: “Get your hand out! Ellie get your hand out. Get your hand out! Let’s move on from that one.

A determined Cole yelled back: “But I want the star!”

Meanwhile, a clip of Australian showbiz legend Denise Drysdale’s surprising announcement to her I’m A Celeb campmates has gone viral on social media.

The national treasure, 75, revealed the ‘luxury item’ she smuggled into camp for Channel 10’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! earlier this week, and it left her fellow celebs speechless.

While it initially appeared her contraband was salt and pepper shakers, Drysdale revealed the contents were actually her late parents’ ashes.

“You’re in camp, mum and dad!” Drysdale proudly said.

UK reality star Callum Hole couldn’t quite contain his bewilderment at Drysdale’s reveal.

“I don’t think that’s normal,” he later said to the cameras.

“It might be … I don’t know. I don’t think I’d want my mum and dad next to me in a tin.”

A video from the episode has since been uploaded to TikTok, where it’s prompted a wave of replies.

“The way I gasped,” one user wrote.

“I physically laughed out loud at this scene,” another said.

“I’m screaming,” a third added, while another wrote, “OMG I wasn’t expecting that, my mouth just dropped.”
