I’m a Celeb star, Beau Ryan threatens to walk over pay stoush with Nathan Buckley

NRL-player turned presenter, Beau Ryan was reportedly up in arms after finding out the appearance fee commanded by the ex Magpies star.

A salary stoush sparked by AFL legend Nathan Buckley’s eye-watering I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! appearance fee, has reportedly led TV presenter Beau Ryan to threaten to quit the show.

This comes after Ryan discovered Buckley’s $300,000 appearance fee, despite The Amazing Race host entering the jungle with no extra pay due to his contract with Network 10, the Herald Sun reports.

According to the publication Ryan was witnessed mid “meltdown” after Buckley informed him of his pay.

So far, neither Ryan or Buckley have publicly shared they will be entering the jungle, however the contestant list is kept under wraps until filming begins.

The Magpies coach has been under public scrutiny after he left his post as the Collingwood Magpies coach in July. This comes after a bombshell split with his wife of 18 years, Tania Minnici in December 2020, with the sports commentator now dating model, influencer and cosmetics injectibles stalwart, Alex Pike.

After leaving the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks and retiring from rugby league in 2014 due to an ongoing neck injury, Ryan pivoted his career into comedy and TV presenting.

Since 2019 he has been hosting Network 10’s revival of The Amazing Race Australia.

According to Woman’s Day, this year’s I’m a Celeb … contestants received salaries from the $15,000 made by Gogglebox stars Adam Densten and Symon Lovett, to the $90,000 taken home by Grant Denyer and Colin Fassnidge.

I’m A Celeb … returns to Channel 10 on January 3 for its eighth season. Celebrity vet Chris Brown and comedian Julia Morris will return as hosts of the show, with the victor winning their chosen charity a $100,000 donation.

The series forces local and international stars to live in jungle-like conditions and compete in challenges like Bushtucker trials and obstacle courses.

Former contestants include The Bachelor’sAbbie Chatfield – who took out the crown this year – as well as Geordie Shore’s Charlotte Crosby, Angie Kent, Shannon Noll, Swans player Barry Hall and politician Jacqui Lambie.

While the celebrity line up has yet to be revealed, the first promo for the reality TV series hinted that the cast would include an AFL star, comedian, country singer, beauty queen and a famous chef.
