Everything you need to know about I’m A Celeb contestant Angie Kent

She’s an Aussie couch critic. She’s a household icon. She’s frightened she’ll throw up. Angie is headed to the jungle!

2019's must-see Aussie reality TV shows

Far from her couch and out of her element, Angie Kent has ditched her television and glass of wine for the African jungle in this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

Kent originally rose to fame as a couch critic on Gogglebox. The TV show regularly saw ordinary Aussies trash talking all things television, and Kent was an instant fan favourite. Alongside on-screen accomplice Yvie, the pair delivered comedy gold discussing everything from The Bachelor to Married At First Sight.

Now, Kent is a feature on the show she often critiqued.

She isn’t alone in the transition from cozy living room to African campsite either — her best friend Yvie has also been sent into the wild.

It should come as no surprised the pair are taking part in this year’s season, previously calling the show “bloody good television” on a Gogglebox episode.

After appearing on as a series regular, Kent became a household icon, known for her quick wit and quotable one-liners. Such popularity has resulted in plenty of support as she competes against 11 other contestants.

Her jungle antics have already caught the attention of fans, particularly her alleged flirtation with fellow contestant Justin Lacko. To add to the drama, a former tweet about the hunky former Love Island star from the Gogglebox duo come back to haunt her.

In 2018, a tweet posted on the Angie and Yvie Twitter page insinuated Lacko was gay, asking him to ‘#comeoutalready’. But, since her arrival at the I’m A Celeb campsite, it appears her opinion of the male model may have changed.

Before Kent entered the jungle, she feared her weak stomach would be her downfall.

“I’m frightened I’ll either poo myself or throw-up.”

If she can hold off the embarrassing bodily functions, she may prevail as this year’s winner.

Off screen, Kent is known for her love of animals, using her social media to promote pet adoption and rescuing dogs.

Kent is competing for the charity Mission Australia, a non-profit organisation which helps combat homelessness, address mental health issues and assist disadvantaged families and children.

I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! airs Sunday to Thursday on Network 10 at 7.30pm.
