Australian reality star turned radio host Brittany Hockley is the first celeb to be announced as a contestant on this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

The former Bachelor runner-up, who is a co-host on KIIS Network’s THE PICK UP, will enter the South African jungle this weekend, with the premiere episode set to air Sunday night on Channel 10.

Hockley, who also runs the successful podcast Life Uncut with fellow Bachelor star and radio co-host Laura Byrne, will join 10 other celebrities who will all be revealed during Sunday’s premiere.

The news was announced on THE PICK UP Thursday, after I’m A Celeb co-hosts Robert Irwin and Julia Morris went on the show earlier in the week teasing one of their three hosts – Hockley, Byrne and Mitch Churi – would be heading into the jungle.

“Not sure I’ve ever been overwhelmed with so many feelings before,” said Hockley, who shot to fame on Nick Cummins’ season of The Bachelor in 2018.

“I’m excited, nervous, petrified, anxious and super pumped all at once. And somehow, I’m already hungry.”

Now in its 10th season, the reality series sees the return of veteran host Morris alongside newcomer Irwin, who was a surprise replacement following the departure of Dr Chris Brown.

Hockley will join a host of fellow high-profile figures to go completely off the grid and set up camp in the heart of the jungle, where they’ll take on a series of death-defying challenges to win over viewers.

Ten has released a flurry of clues about the rest of the camp mates, including a gold medallist, a controversial TV star, an AFL legend and a Hollywood child star.

The overall winner will be crowned king or queen of the jungle after four weeks, and will take home $100,000 in prize money for the charity of their choice.

When speaking about the pack of celebs the network has locked in, Irwin, who makes his prime time TV hosting debut on the show, made a hilarious confession.

“You know the animals I’m secretly afraid of? The celebrities,” he told news.com.au.

Irwin continued: “That’s the only wildcard here. The Mozambique spitting cobras. All good. Dealt with them before. Puff adders, no worries. Elephants, love them. Got ‘em at home.

“And this is what I love about this place, South Africa. The wildlife is just dialled up like nowhere else.

“I mean, you look around and it’s like the saturation is just at 11. There’s birds everywhere. You’ve got the big cats, you’ve got everything from the little five to the big five. It’s just something else.”
