I'm A Celebrity - Keira Maguire's day one breakdown

REALITY TV diva Keira Maguire has suffered a monumental meltdown in the South African jungle.

Hours after entering the I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! camp as an intruder, the former Bachelor contestant was treated by medics in the explosive Grim Gallery Tucker Trial in which she claimed she was dying after sticking her head in a box of chillies.

“This is not okay,” the 30-year-old wailed. “I can’t believe you did that to me. You don’t even know how much it’s burning.”

Hosts Julia Morris and Chris Brown attempted to calm Maguire down as she sat hysterically crying and screaming at production staff.

“They are not on national TV like dying,” she said when Morris told her the trial had been tested several times previously.

“I’m not even over exaggerating this situation. I have a very strong pain threshold. That was so bad, worse than any treatment I’ve ever had on my face and that is f**king painful.”

Maguire’s meltdown started from the minute she took on the trial. Sticking her head into a perspex box of rats, she recoiled into the bushes sobbing. Later, it was a box of chillies and chilli sauce that broke her.

AFL legend Dane Swan stood quietly with red welts on his neck and face after being bitten by thousands of ants including on his lip and inside his nose.

“No one even cared. Is this really what it is going to be like the whole time?” she yelled, Swan responding: “pretty much”.

Network Ten head of entertainment and factual programming Stephen Tate said: “We had already tested this trial several times. The chilli sauce is commercially available here in South Africa in the supermarket. While it was very unpleasant it was also totally harmless to Keira’s health.”

Despite the drama, the duo collected 10 from 12 stars, equalling extra food for the camp.

Maguire entered the South African jungle camp as an intruder on Tuesday night’s show, immediately making her presence felt and ruffling feathers with the 11 celebrities that have been roughing it for two-and-a-half weeks in the jungle.

“If I can’t do something, I’m not doing it although they are going to be starving, isn’t that what they signed up for?”

Shock jock Steve Price had to be told who Maguire was and wasn’t happy with her attitude.

“There’s no room in here for pretty faces and cute accents,” he said. You’ll get the message from me pretty quickly if you come back and there’s nothing in your pocket.”

Ash Pollard, of My Kitchen Rules and Dancing with the Stars fame, said: “she gets paparazzied a lot and I think that is her tipping off the paps because nobody gets paparazzied that much from a reality show.”
