REAL Housewives of Melbourne star Pettifleur Berenger has a real “bitch” fight on her hands after being threatened with legal action by one of Donald Trump’s Apprentices.
Hard-nosed Omarosa Manigault, who was on the first season of The Apprentice and was married to the late actor Michael Clarke Duncan, is taking legal action over Berenger’s new self-help book, according to TMZ.
Berenger’s recently released book is titled Switch The Bitch. Manigault released a book in 2008 titled The Bitch Switch: Knowing How To Turn It On and Off.
During the Real Housewives of Melbourne reunion episode on May 10, Berenger explained what the book was about and that she did not fear legal action.
“It’s about switching off the erratic behaviour and learning to take control of your emotions,” Berenger said on the Arena TV program.
“Yes, I knew about the other book, and I’m not concerned about being sued, because it’s content you can’t copy, not a title.” According to celebrity gossip website TMZ, Manigault’s lawyer, Bradford M Cohen, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Berenger.
Manigault says she will file a lawsuit seeking $US150,000 ($A189,502) for each violation of her copyright, TMZ reported. Berenger was warned about the title of her book by barrister and fellow Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gina Liano, who said it was bordering on plagiarism.
“There’s a book that has a very similar title, to me it looked like a bit of plagiarism,” Liano said during a reunion episode. Berenger though dismissed the notion and also said she self-funded the book.
“It’s completely different, I don’t care,” Berenger said.
“It’s how I strengthened myself for the position I am in.”
Manigault has been contacted for comment.
