Goggleboxers’ shock over ABC sex doco
THE Gogglebox households got more than they bargained for this week with Luke McGregor’s explicit series, Luke Warm Sex.
THINGS take an awkward turn on this week’s episode of Gogglebox, as the households sit down to watch comedian Luke McGregor’s rather explicit ABC show, Luke Warm Sex.
The comedy documentary series sees McGregor — who admits he’s always been a bit hapless in the love department — exploring sex and body image issues with admirable frankness.
Last week’s Gogglebox: Households blast Daryl’s TV comeback
First, McGregor’s off to a ‘penis expert’ who, using one carefully-placed cucumber, demonstrates a few choice techniques:
“You know what I’ve learned?” Vivian asks, eyes wide. “I think I’ve given some bad handjobs.”
Visiting another sexpert - this one more well-versed with ladyparts - Luke confesses he just doesn’t really know his way around the common garden-variety vagina.
Luckily, she has an oversized, anatomically graphic ‘vagina cushion’ on hand to run him through the basics.
“Mine doesn’t look like that,” Lee says.
“No, yours is a bit..” her husband Keith gestures his arms out wide, before getting a well-deserved wallop.
Spare a thought for the Delpechitras, watching this utterly inappropriate TV show together as a family.
When McGregor and his sexpert discuss his inability to find the G-spot, dad Patrick decides to pipe up in defence of his own skills: “Don’t I, after three lovely children?”
Those ‘three lovely children’ look like they want the ground to swallow them whole.
Luke then takes a cunnilingus class, where an enthusiastic female teacher demonstrates techniques on a piece of fruit. It’s ... confronting television.
“I want her to go down on ME!” Angie says, clearly gobsmacked.
Over at the Delpechitras, it seems to have struck a nerve:
“It’s a good class for you,” mum Tracey tells her husband, while their kids once more stare at the floor.
Luke Warm Sex over, the households offer their thoughts on the surprise hit ABC show (they probably need a cigarette after all that sex).
“Now I can’t eat any fruit any more,” Lee says.
“I bet the prices of cucumber will go up after this,” Patrick says.
Let’s leave the final word to Silbery family matriarch Emily:
“I still feel sorry for him, I’d like to take him home and give him a good … meal,” she says, as her daughter and granddaughter breathe a sigh of relief at how her sentence finished.
Gogglebox screens on Wednesdays at 7:30pm on Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel, then 8:30pm Thursdays on TEN.
