Fans slam Kim Kardashian for not knowing what tortellini is in Italy

Kim Kardashian has been slammed for doing the unthinkable while dining in Italy, with one fan declaring: “Wealth is wasted on the rich.”

Kim Kardashian isn’t keeping up with Italian food.

While dining out during Milan Fashion Week on Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the reality star asked a waiter, “What is tortellini?”

When the restaurant employee explained that the dish is “like a ravioli,” Kardashian went on to ask for “any[thing] that’s not spaghetti”, New York Post reports.

“Maybe, like, a penne or anything else?”

After the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum, 41, was “of course” given penne, she explained in a confessional that she has chosen to be a “flexitarian”.

Kim asked the waiter to describe tortellini while dining in Milan.

The reality star seemingly hadn't heard of the standard pasta variety.

That means the Skims creator is “vegan sometimes and just not other times,” Kardashian said. “So, YOLO.”

Fans of the Hulu show took to Twitter to share their shock over Kardashian not knowing what tortellini is.

“Did Kim really just ask what tortellini is? IN ITALY?” one Twitter user wrote, with another adding, “Watching Kim K ask what tortellini is actually painful.”

A third viewer wrote that Kardashian’s question “blew [their] mind,” and a fourth slammed her “disrespect” abroad.

“Wealth is wasted on the rich,” another social media user wrote.

Kardashian was on a trip to Italy with Kendall Jenner at the time, and the older sibling watched proudly from the sidelines as the model, 26, walked for Prada earlier this year.

Later in the episode, Kardashian shopped for then-boyfriend Pete Davidson, gushing that the comedian has the “best heart”.

“I feel like people, they have this, like, idea of him that he dates all these hot girls – and he does. But he’s just the sweetest, most thoughtful person,” she said of the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live star.

The former couple started dating in October 2021 but called it quits nine months later.

While Kardashian clarified on chat show Live With Kelly and Ryan last month that she’s looking to date “absolutely no one,” she previously told James Corden that she’s got her sights set on a “scientist, neuroscientist, biochemist, doctor [or] attorney” in the future.

“Cleary it’s not working, whatever I’m doing,” she joked.

“I feel like I have to … go to different places,” she said, noting that she should visit a “hospital” or “law firm.”
