Deanne Jolly takes aim at ‘boring’ Block contestant Charlotte Ekas
SHE’S not one to mince her words and Dee Jolly didn’t waste any time getting stuck into her fellow Block contestants this morning, even labelling one “boring”.
SHE’S not one to mince her words and Dee Jolly didn’t waste any time getting stuck into her fellow Block contestants on radio this morning.
The fiery reality TV star was on air with Stav & Abby on Hit105 Brisbane when the duo decided to play a little game of Slap Chat, granting them three questions that Dee could either choose to answer or have Abby slap Stav across the face.
They asked: “Who are the most boring contestants on this series of The Block?”
Dee didn’t hesitate in her reply. “I’ll answer that, I think probably Charlotte looks really boring,” she said.
Charlotte Ekas and her partner Josh Terrett are proving to be strong competition for returning pair Daz and Dee. The young Sydney couple, who are competing on The Block for the first time, won the living and dining room week with a score of 24, while the Jollys racked up 18 for failing to finish.
This was the first time in The Block’s 10-year history that a team has chosen not to produce a room for judging. So perhaps Dee’s on air swipe at Charlotte is a nothing more than a touch of healthy competition?
But she wasn’t done. The straight-shooting mother-of-two was also asked what she thought about judge Shaynna Blaze’s personal style.
The radio hosts asked: “Do you think Shaynna dresses her age?”
Dee came back with: “I’ve read a lot of comments on social media about that and I know that there’s a lot of people out there that don’t think she dresses her age ... I think she’s probably ... maybe, slightly no ...”
So that was a no then, Dee?
This is hardly the first time the hothead Blockhead has taken a stab at the female judge. Last year on The Block Glasshouse she said of the designer when she thought cameras weren’t rolling, “She’s a bogan from Wantirna who’s got no f***ing idea.”
Monday night on Nine’s reno show, it was her husband Daz who went head-to-head with Blaze after the judge said their decision to forfeit their dining room reveal in Sunday’s episode was arrogant. “Here I was offering him a solution on a platter and all he could look for someone else to blame,” Blaze said after the former AFL star went on the defensive over their ceiling drama.
Daz responded by taking a sledgehammer to the walls and ceiling of the dining room.
Things are about to get interesting though, as the lowest scoring team of the week Daz and Dee scored a mentoring session with their nemesis. What could go wrong?
For the record, the one question from Stav and Abby that Ms Jolly chose not to answer was, “What exactly are you and Darren getting paid from Channel 9 each week?”
Nice try guys.
Do ya reckon Dee has EVER admitted she is wrong? #theblock

Dee and Daz are so blinded when they think they are always hard done by. It's a 2 way street accept criticism. #TheBlock #sooks @Channel9
