Chrissie Swan opens up about radio axing
SHE was mercilessly axed from her breakfast radio job last year. Now Chrissie Swan has opened up to Andrew Daddo about what she’ll do next.
CHRISSIE Swan has opened up about her axing from breakfast radio on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here.
In an intimate conversation with Andrew Daddo, Swan said she “hasn’t lost anything”.
“I’m looking forward to this year — especially now I’m out of contract,” she said.
Andrew reassured her, saying, “You’ll be right”.
“Yeah I know,” she said, “I really do. I really will be all right”.
“Really, I’m not losing anything ... I’m gaining so much.”
She said her time in the jungle has been a “little reality check” for “what actually matters”.
Describing what her life was like for the three years she hosted the Melbourne breakfast show on Mix 101.1 (now KIIS 101.1), she told Daddo:
“I work and then at 11.30 I come home and I get rid of the babysitter. So it’s just me and my kids — which is how I want it to be. But then I’m working 4.30 till 11 at night.”
She also revealed she struggles with wanting to work and wanting to stay at home with her kids — but said she knows she’ll always have job offers.
“I just want to enjoy myself a bit more. I know work … I’ll always be fine for work. And also I want to work. But I don’t … I also want to be a stay at home mum.”
Swan hosted the breakfast show with Jane Hall for three years before she was replaced with Matt Tilley.
She told news.com.au at the time it was not her choice to leave.
