MasterChef is just weeks away from returning to screens for the 2023 season.

Channel 10 revealed the long-running cooking series will premiere on May 1, with its 15th season, titled MasterChef Australia: Secrets & Surprises, serving up some changes on previous years.

Alongside the air date, the network also dropped a one-minute promo trailer for the show, which featured a magic garden-themed set-up starring judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen.

The popular cooking series has undergone some shake-ups this year, and will have a much shorter run time than usual. MasterChef has traditionally stretched out its run over two months with episodes airing four nights a week.

But this year, the decision was made for it to be more compact a bid to maintain audience engagement.

The series will follow I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, which premieres on April 2.

It comes after Ten revealed its jam-packed 2023 programming line-up in Sydney last year, and perhaps the most exciting news was for MasterChef fans, with a sweet spin-off titled Dessert Masters set to premiere this year.

“This short and sweet series is all about – as the name suggests – desserts, with 10 masters of their art battling for the inaugural title of Dessert Master,” a Ten press release reads.

The series will be filmed in the MasterChef kitchen in Melbourne, and will be judged by Leong and Amaury Guichon.
